Is it possible to have MSFS2020 output to external speakers and P2A output to headset at the same time I thought I saw this a while back but could not find it Thanks

Yes.

Set MSFS up to use the speakers.

On the Speech tab of P2A's Config window, set the Speech Output Device to your headset.
