C414 add on liveries missing after recent update

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a livery designer using the downloaded verison of the 414.  After the most recent update of the Marketplace verison, users of my liveries are reporting that the liveries no longer show up in MSFS for the 414.  However for users of the downloaded version like myself, the liveries still work.

It seems that the Marketplace version and the downloaded version are no longer the same.

A previous update changed the aircraft id from "flysimware_Cessna_414A" to "base_container = "flysimware_Cessna_414AW".  Without an exact match to this value liveries will not work.  I am wondering if perhaps the Marketplace verison has reverted to the older "flysimware_Cessna_414A" ID (or another value), causing the liveries to disappear. Unfortunatley I don't have direct access to the Marketplace version to troubleshoot this problem.

When do you think that the downloaded and Marketplace version will be in sync again?

Sorry Al none of those links worked for me and I just get a discord error of no messages once I log on.

Users from the MSFS forums have confirmed that the folder structure of the marketplace version is different to the downloaded version, but the structure didn't revert to the older verison as I had guessed.

- Downloaded version uses flysimware_Cessna_414AW

- Marketplace version uses flysimware_aircraft_414AW

As Flysimware has substituted aircraft in place of Cessna, all 3rd party liveries will fail to load as this folder name is the critcial link between the livery and the source aircraft.

Until Flysimware fix this problem users of the marketplace version should be able to take the following action :-

1. Edit the aircraft.cfg using a text editor like Textpad or Wordpad and change all references of flysimware_Cessna_414AW to flysimware_aircraft_414AW. If the livery supports all 4 version of the 414 there will be 13 references to change.

2.  Edit the texture.cfg and change all references of flysimware_Cessna_414AW to flysimware_aircraft_414AW.  There will most likely ony be one to change.

If Flysimware fix this problem then users will most likely need to restore the original version of this livery, depending on what action Flysimware has taken.

FSW posted this on the Discord site:

We broke the paint mods 2 times overall and fixed it right away. Important info. Asobo will not allow us to change the project name. flysimware-cessna-414aw This must stay. The mistake we made was the Market Place version for PC and Xbox the folder name that holds the files never got reverted back after we tried to remove Cessna from both places. So since we are not allowed to change the product directory changing the folder name makes no difference. So the conclusion is do not update any paint mods. We will fix the MP version and all existing mods will continue to work.   Project name flysimware-cessna-414aw Folder name flysimware_cessna_414AW

My understanding an update was sent to the MP on 28 Feb -- don't know when it will be released.
