September 8, 200718 yr FsDiscover didn't seem to have any noticeable frame rate hit what so ever. X-Graphics didn't seem to have any frame rate hit with the default theme installed. I have installed the high res 512x512 clouds and bumped up the airport ground clutter. I also installed the runway and taxiway bumpmaps. I never noticed a framerate hit, but if you crank up the airport clutter too high I imagine it would impact frames.Ultimate terrain X does seem to have a fps impact, but it depends on what features you use and it's highly configurable. The configuration utility shows a basic representation of how much each setting will effect performance. Yes, the cars stay on the roads, the boats stay on the water. Car traffic is problably the highest costing feature in UTX. I'm happy as long as I see a few cars here and there, so I don't run it too high.My system is a core2duo @ 3.2ghz, 8800gtx, 4gb ddr 2, xfi, 680i. I'm able to run 1600x1200x32, 16xAF and 4x AA set in the nvidia cp.When it comes to sims, I love eye candy and I'm happy as long as it runs smooth. Naturaly I'd love 60fps, but I'm happy with 20+ as long as it's smooth.
