New FSX User Questions

Featured Replies

Hi all!I used to be into FS 2002 in a big way but it has been a few years now since I have touched it.I am now looking to get back into it but have some questions before deciding if I should buy FSX or stick with FS2002.Firstly, I want to play FSX on my laptop, based on the stats below, will it run it well?- Windows Vista Business- Intel Core 2 CPU - T5200 @ 1.6GHz- 2048 mb of DDR2 RAM- Nvidia GeForce GO 7400 128mbSecondly, I used to use MRAI flightplans (or compatible ones) and their complier. They have sinced closed and I assume there is no longer any support for FSX in this. What AI which is similar to this is available for FSX these days? Thanks for your help!Beau

I'm using an Asus G1S notebook, and FSX is great on it.Your CPU and RAM are okay. Not too sure about that video card though. You may be able to run FSX at medium settings. Just a guess, that.AI: Ultimate Traffic and Traffic X I think it's called are your best bets.Cheers,Bryan

I've been using FSX in my laptop for one week, so far looks promising, really love it, altough I had to lower some features alike many others. I guess we all have to do that depending on the computer FS runs. Keep that in mind. In your case I think the problem is, as Bryan suggested, the graphic card. But again, there is the option of lowering features. My advice to anyone is that FSX is really really worth it, no matter if one has to miss some goodies.

Thanks for the advice. My biggest worry is the graphics card too but it sounds like it is worth the upgrade. With regards to my AI question, are there any free flightplans, like the old MRAI ones? I used to use ultimate traffic but really like the accuracy of planes and registrations in MRAI, so i could get the right repaints. Are the old MRAI ones compatible?Cheers
