I am new to flight simulation.  Purchased a fairly hefty gaming desktop, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, and Logitech Rudder pedals and x-Plane 12.  I am an instrument rated private pilot and built and own a Van's RV-7A.  I am interested in the RealityXP GTN650 plugin as I have the GTN650 in the RV.  My interest in flight simulation is primarily to practice and sharpen my instrument and GTN650 skills.

Welcome to Avsim!  If you are ever interested in trying out MS Flight Simulator, there is a nice option for you... An RV14-A with Garmin avionics..
