WEBFIP help please.

Featured Replies

I cannot get the WEBFIPs to show on my tablet.

Does MSFS have to be running? I assume not as the gauges show in the local browser in offline mode.

1. I have configured a set of gauges and they show fine in a local browser and the in-game panel.

2. Gauges - WEB FIPS is ticked.

2. In windows firewall I have allowed the program "C:\Program Files\LorbyAxisAndOhs_MSFS\LorbyAxisAndOhs_MSFS.exe".

3. I run the app as administrator.

4. In windows firewall I have configured inbound and outbound rules for the app for ports 43280, 43380 and 43381 (I reset the ports after the recent update).

5. I have done the same on my router just in case it is required (I don't think so as all other remote MCDUs etc do not require this step).

6. I have checked that the ports are not in use other than when Axis and Ohs is running.

7. On my tablet I am entering the following url in chrome: http://xxx.x.x.xx:43280/webfips as described the config panel. It just times out.

Is there anything I have missed?

Thanks, Daz

Sorry, I'm not really a network security specialist.

Did this work before (=can you go back to the port that was working then?)? And what kind of tablet is that? Port rules are for TCP? Did you restart the computer?

I don't think that allowing the app itself through the firewall does anything. Only port rules will.

Thanks for the reply.

This is the first time I have tried to use WEBFIPs. I have tried with my Android phone and tablet, both on Android 12.

There is an automatic entry in the firewall rules based on the exe and allowing all ports, both TCP and UDP.

Are you suggesting there is a way to just open up certain ports irrespective of the app?

Thanks, Daz

Well that was a quick fix, thanks for the clue.

It was simply a matter of opening the ports rather than specifying a rule for the actual program that solved it.

Thanks, Daz.

Windows Firewall? That is how I remember it (I am using a different product now). In my experience, when you allow the app, that does nothing. I always have to create separate incoming and outgoing port rules.

I was just asking about the tablets because I know that older iPads can't display HTML5 (which is what the gauges are made of...)

Now that I have the FIPS working on my tablet, is there a setting to adjust the gauge update frequency?

Sorry, but that won't be possible. The gauges should update at a conservative 10 fps - hoping to avoid flooding your browser, the AAO Webserver and SimConnect.
