Are you looking for interaction with real world traffic?

Featured Replies

If you’re looking for interaction with real world traffic I recommend PSXT
For many many years I’ve been using it with LAAP (live ATC tunable inside the sim aircraft) the accuracy of the flight representation in the SIM is very good and routinely I’m able to hold close formation with aircraft I am following.
My technique is to set up favorite aircraft on FlightAware and setting up alert I’m able to anticipate the departure if they are filing a flight plan or join them shortly after takeoff if they are VFR.
If there is a live ATC in the area I can prepare frequencies and follow communication real time, it is quite an immersive experience.
I have tried flying with friends in the group flights online but often my high expectations of aviation behavior is not there. following the real world traffic gives you full quality of behavior.
I am flying FSX for that reason that I can have live ATC in my radios as well as ActiveSky in my opinion represents weather in more accurate way and gives me wake turbulence if I follow in the wrong place.(!)
As I’m writing this I am following N4QR husky from grass Valley flying S 6500 on the flight following, 127.4 in my com1 working perfectly.
Amazing coverage of airline traffic, accurate parking positions and lots of GAs, military jets and gliders all over the place.
For me that is the way.
On top of it you can set it up so aircraft will not collide with you and you can still use vatsim for virtual ATC.
I don’t have MSFS but I believe it works just as accurate if not better.
I wonder how others are using this amazing program.
Happy landings
