  1. I am observing quite drastic improvement in aircraft behavior in the air and on the ground There used to be big problem of aircraft pumping up and down, extremely annoying. The way I understand it was because of low quality of data coming from RT. In V14 I haven’t yet seen that behavior so I’m suspecting that Niko has put a lot of time in smoothing out data points or RT quality have drastically improved. It used to be very immersion killer, seeing aircraft, jumping up and down on a descend or even in level flight and now it almost is as good as it used to be in the beginning . Congratulation, Niko and highly appreciate it how you’re constantly making an effort to improve the experience mike
  2. PSXT and LiveATC is my favorite combination. I have tried all kinds of other injectors and ATC simulations, and all of it is extremely unreliable and frustrating PSXT is untouchable for injection and if I want life interaction Vatsym is the only way. As a fly, mostly GA's, I can slot myself into the real world traffic, listening to lifeATC and observing aircraft out of the window. For now that’s the best way.
  3. When I first start PSXT, everything is green, but after sometime RT turns yellow yet everything seems to be continuing working. RT stays yellow I did notice in the log some errors, but I don’t know what they mean and how to fix it if it’s needed Attaching log file TH mike
  4. I really like the way it’s set up now. On my older system I set up 50 for range and 50 for maximum this way outside busy areas. I can see contrails far away but when it gets busy, it doesn’t bug out my system. Not a bad idea to customize by inputting specific number for both in preferences, and if that is done on the display, it will automatically pop out as custom mike
  5. if it’s not in the log somewhere, it could be tricky for me to trace it since the PSXT is running behind the simulator and sometimes I’m flying through empty areas. mike
  6. I am suspecting that occasionally I lose momentarily connection, even though it is quite fast. And it is not reconnecting to traffic after that.
  7. ==> re-authentication to RT API is needed, restart PSXT The Traffic Reader has stopped with an error I am getting some of this error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled clean. I have received quite a few of those. Here is my log mike
  8. I am using nice selection from IVAO It works mike
  9. where are the presets stored locally in the numeric form so they can be fine tuned since it is impossible fine tune using the GUI also being able to make adjustments to other peoples presets and then save them for personal use or to share (?) mike
  10. I know I can’t, but I wish I could return this for a principal This is complete garbage even though 15 bucks is not much , maybe that was the idea to pull it out of us no matter what. No ethics. reputation of Rex for me is ruined mike now when I try to create my own set it requires a title description and a group or something When I put in description probably misspelled my description it doesn’t accept it and if I try to cancel it doesn’t everything is great out I have to quit the program to get back to it What is this requiring description and what does it require to do it properly I’m wasting my time
  11. The software is useless for me it cannot be used on 1920 x 1080 screen The bottom of the interface is cut off and it is impossible to operate I can’t believe that somebody released that without testing or simply checking it on the laptop mike
  12. complete disaster here in CA US I’m having them continuously every minute or so makes sim useless I was convinced that this message is because my provider is doing a reset since I always have them once or twice a day Turn out they are probably not on my end Also why are they smack in the middle of screen and so gigantic why not somewhere on the side so you can continue operations It’s just weird doesn’t seem to be very clever people are putting this together mike
  13. Seems like I have found solution for my setup. I had my "Special Effects Detail" all the way to the right. By sliding it all away to the left seems like problem is eliminated. I realize I'm missing some affects but that's better than horrible frames that I'm getting. H L mike
  14. Here is a massive example of the shoreline problem in the area of CLN VOR. I included that area in a fix file (BGL) to try it. It needs to be on top of scenery list. You can examine all the locations that I have recognize that now includes CLN area in the SbuilderX file, included in a zip, but there could be many more...... fix file H L mike
  15. I posted on the ORBX forum without any response, so I thought I'll try it here; I started having some massive frame rate drops in specific areas I was attributing it to possibly settings or other reasons until I've noticed that that drop has happened in a faraway place, where scenery in intensity was very light. I normally run 30 frames locked and throughout the scenery it will hold. Over these areas I will get massive drops Down to 15 and lower. At first I thought I had some custom scenery that is corrupted. By deactivating all my sceneries except FTX and Vector I've discovered that the problem continues For an experiment I created shoreline exclusion in SbuilderX and the problem went away. I have come across several other locations that has the same symptoms and by locally creating shoreline exclusion it cures the problem. The most prominent example is Florida keys almost all the way down as well as around Boston airport. I am attaching SbuilderX file for all the locations that I was able to recognize but there could be many many more. It is clearly connected to shoreline because putting that exclusion on top of all the sceneries cures it completely. Obviously scenery looks quite ugly without Shoreline in those locations. I am also including my scenery CFG test file to show that this problem is clearly connected in my installation to vector shoreline database. I hope it will help to recognize systemic problem and it will be repaired in the next update. Happy landings https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35512799/fsx/shor_vector_problem1.zip mike
  16. If you are using Vpilot you need to create your own model matching rules set. You and your friend have to have same aircraft installed and activate custom model matching rule set. HL
  17. Here is a tweak that I've been using with good results. It does wonders to my gauges and sharpness of the cockpit. To use it find [PANELS] section in your FSX,cfg and add this line VIRTUAL_COCKPIT_TEXTURES_SCALE=2.0 Try it, if it works enjoy it.
  18. grate ideas antivirus is off will study NickN's Bible and Task Manager's CPU time column TH mike
  19. I wonder if I can switch any of these services I feel like there's still something running in the background, any advice will be highly appreciated mike
  20. It is quite amazing how this weather programs simulate vertical air movement like topographical lift, downdrafts, microbursts, boundary layer turbulence, thermals and turbulence in the clouds. Try flying into a thunder cell and experience amazing downdrafts the drop you 1000 feet down. Or get yourself caught in a small plane too close to the mountain, on the backside of the wind and not being able to climb over. As you are VFR flying, in a distance you can see thunderstorm, you can plan to go around it visually as the weather in a distant is continuous (no poping). Amazing how it only rains under specific clouds not generically all over and never above the clouds. It's amazing how it is seamless continuous experience. The list seems to go on ...... Recently I've flown in real life a small plane on the Pacific coast and as I looked over the ocean, marine layer was covering the coastal area. I reanacted that flight with historical weather, and depiction was quite remarkable. I have also experienced excellent response to comments on forums as well as technical support. I think it is a question of the devotion and pursuit of excellence. I wonder which one of those weather programs I'm talking about. ASN mike
