June 22, 20232 yr I have downloaded the trial and have been using it after reading through the manuals, watching numerous YT vids as I didn't want to go at it half cocked! I really do like this however I have an issue I can't seem to resolve - and I appreciate it's likely me being stupid but... I have now done 4 flights and the setup of flight plans has been fine, I get my clearance to pushback, and taxi to the holding point and when given the tower frequency and request take-off I am told to tune to ground to get taxi clearance! so I go in a loop and no further. Of course the flight ends there as I can't get clearance to take-off just handed back to the start. As I am very new I am only using the "SayIt" option until I am ready to speak and the comms frequencies and readback are handled by co pilot so no chance of me screwing up the frequencies but I am stuck - very annoying after the time taken to set it all up. So am I missing something obvious here? highly likely and is the a way to get around this to continue the flight as most of my flying is with a VA so another level of setting up involved. Can I just take off and re-connect or re-start the flight plan enroute somehow or does it end there without takeoff clearance. I am on the demo version and this will not stop me buying it but I would really like to solve this. Apologies if I am being thick! Thanks for any help Dave
June 22, 20232 yr Commercial Member If you are not close enough to the takeoff position on the runway when you ask for departure clearance, you will get into this loop. This is usually due to either you being at the wrong intersection with the runway or the runway not being defined correctly in TaxiMnt. If you are not near the Runway numbers and this happens, try taxiing closer to the numbers and request departure clearance again. This will usually get you going if either of the above 2 conditions are causing the problem. You can also try requesting a Midfield departure, which then eliminates the test for being close to the takeoff position. A way to avoid this, is to be sure you are at the end of the blue taxi line displayed on the map when you press the Taxi button to the right of the map after getting taxi instructions. If the problem is the runway not being defined properly, you can fix that in TaxiMnt to avoid the problem in the future. Sometimes importing the Taxiways for that airport will fix the problem. Other times you need to move the end of the runway closer to the intersection where you were told to taxi to for takeoff. For the trial, I would recommend flying out of a different airport that might have the definitions correct to be sure to complete some flights. Dave
June 22, 20232 yr Author Thanks Dave, I did try 2 different airports but got the same problem but I take on board what you suggest and will try again later. I am using X-Plane 11.55 in case that makes a difference as makerwys is not available for X-Plane as far as I know. Thanks for the quick reply. Cheers Dave
June 23, 20232 yr Commercial Member You can import taxiways and gates directly from X-Plane without TaxiMnt for individual airports. See the P2A Operations manual Taxi Maintenance section for how to do that. Dave
