Request: Aircraft (Profile) Settings (RAAS Command)

Recommended Posts

I am currently using the default profile but I would like to create specific profiles for PMDG 737-800 and FBWA32NX

Does anyone have the correct settings for these aircraft please?

I don't think there is an absolute correct setting as many options would be airline specific.

Be sure to check our Discord channel; lots of lively RAAS discussion there:

Thanks, generic settings for these aircraft would be quite useful and could be tailored later if necessary. Already asked the same question on Discord but no responses yet.

Most simmers wouldn't know.  It's an airline specific thing.

I'm not looking for anything SOP specific, just the correct values to enter into the two boxes for the flaps in respect of the PMDG 737-800 and FBWA32NX please

Depending on what you are flying Airbus or Boeing. Both have different flaps configuration. The two flaps boxes:

  • Minimum Take-off Flaps
  • Minimum Landing Flaps

Only needs the flaps position index. In case of Airbus, in case of the A320, it has 4 flaps positions: 0,1,2,3,4. Where flaps 4 is FULL flaps, flaps 0 is flaps Zero/Up. You can enter the direct number into the boxes.

For example, for Airbus:

  • Minimum Take-off Flaps: 1       <----- In the case, where the minimum Takeoff flaps position is Flaps 1
  • Minimum Landing Flaps: 3       <----- In the case, where the minimum Landing flaps position is Flaps 3

Now on Boeing, there is no flaps indices, but flaps in degrees. At this moment, you can't enter the flaps position in degrees, in these textboxes, in RAAS. You need to enter still the flaps position/index. For this case, you need to have a mental map of which are the flaps position, as to for example, the Boeing 737:

Flaps (Degrees) = Flaps (Index)

Flaps Up = 0 degrees = Position 0

Flaps 1 = 1 degrees = Position 1

Flaps 2 = 2 degrees = Position 2

Flaps 5 = 5 degrees = Position 3

Flaps 10 = 10 degrees = Position 4

Flaps 15 = 15 degrees = Position 5

Flaps 25 = 25 degrees = Position 6

Flaps 30 = 30 degrees = Position 7

Flaps 40 = 40 degrees = Position 8

For example, for Boeing, and taking into consideration the previous table of flaps degrees/position:

  • Minimum Take-off Flaps: 3       <----- In the case the minimum Takeoff flaps position is Flaps 5 (Degrees)
  • Minimum Landing Flaps: 7       <----- In the case the minimum Landing flaps position is Flaps  30 (Degrees)

The same would apply for any Flaps/Degrees based airplanes like McDonnel Douglas, etc. For others that aren't Flaps degrees based, like Airbus, they only use the straight direct Flaps number position.

Any questions, let me know

Cheers,

Manuel

@Manuel82

Thanks for taking the time to prepare this information .... brilliant, just what we needed, everything is now crystal clear

Just one question, I previously made a note that on Discord, 18/02/2023 14:54 FS2CREW Developer | Bryan issued a NOTAM which said,

"When using RAAS with the PMDG 737, use these Flap Settings in RAAS. (These needed to be updated due to a PMDG update)"

He provided a screenshot showing:

Min Takeoff Flaps = 3
Min Landing Flaps = 6

Maybe an oversight, but you say,

Min Takeoff Flaps = 3
Min Landing Flaps = 7

Can you clarify which is correct please?

Min Landing Flaps = 6 (would be for Flaps 25 according to the table).....but if you need the minimum landing flaps to be Flaps 15 (degrees), then:

Min Landing Flaps = 5

Cheers,

Manuel
