July 22, 20232 yr Hi all, I have a question about the suction gauge in the lowest left corner of the main panel. According to my knowledge the two "RED = INOPERATIVE" source indicators for the (L)eft and (R)ight vacuum pump are driven totally by the vacuum system of each respective engine. I have observed that (e.g.) during magneto check when disabling the second magneto of either engine the "RED" indication appears nearly immediately. Almost like it is an LED. Shouldn't it be a kind of mechanical "spring loaded" thing? And from what I remember this type of gauge has no electric connector at all. Because the vacuum pump is engine driven the suction level is normally strictly depentend from the engine's rpm and possibly a releif valve. So when shutting down the engine the rpm is coming down rather slowly, thus the suction decreases rather slowly, compared to switching sth. electrical off. Therefor I should expect the "bubbles" to appear somewhat later. Not with disabling any second magneto but with RPM sinking below ~650 rpm. Am I wrong? Edited July 22, 20232 yr by Jens Mohr
July 22, 20232 yr Probably just a small example of not everything being modeled to 100% realism, or perhaps there is a sim limitation involved somehow. Al Edited July 22, 20232 yr by ark
