How do I add kneeboard checklists?

Featured Replies

I've started typing my own checklists because I own so many aircraft it's impossible to memorize all of them so I was wondering if there's a way I can add my custom checklists as well as performance data to the Kneeboard for easy access.  I really hate having to Alt + Tab to look at my checklists all the time.  I appreciate anyone's help if there is a way, thanks.

In each [fltsim.x] section in aircraft.cfg there is a line for kb_checklists= and another one for kb_reference=. These lines call the filename of an HTML file on the same aircraft folder, that has the checklists and performance data. What you need to do is to create these HTML files with your custom checklists. At least this is how it works for FS9; I guess FSX and P3D work the same way.

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Years ago I made the freeware "Lorby Scratchpad" for P3D V4 and beyond. This a an editor for the kneeboard combined with features to display text in a SimConnect message window.

Thank you for the tips I really appreciate it.  So if I understand this correctly, I need to create the HTML file, then put the file in the aircraft folder and use the lines in the aircraft.cfg file to point it to the HTML files, is that correct?

That looks awesome!  I want it, where can I find it?

BTW thank you for your products.  I do own AxisAndOhs and it's a wonderful tool, thank you for that.

Yep, but looks like Lorby gave us an easier way to do so.

Yes he sure did.  I still appreciate you telling me how to do it without tools so I know how.  I just found the scratchpad on his website now.  I didn't realize he had so much interesting tools he's made.  God bless you @Lorby_SI and thank you for your wonderful tools!
