August 15, 20232 yr Have been using PJF Fokker 28 for many years - ever since it was released. In the past had a few issues with the FSSound.dll and have been able to resolved them. Recentrly it occurred again and have not been able to do a fix. I have even uninstall FS2004 and all add-ons several times. The FS9.cfg [OLD Modules] FSSound.dll=1 does not correct the issue neither reinstalling FSUIPC3 that in the past seemed to help. Other times have been able to recoup by doing a system restored. FS2004 and add-ons works well until the Fokker 28 is install, both v1 and v1.1. As soon as installed the FSSound.dll error occurs. Downloaded the PJF Fokker software again and get the same issues. HELP....HELP, doing the same things over and over and getting the same results....madness as Mr Einstein used to say! Appreciate any help. The Fokker F28 has been my favorite with over 3,000 hrs flying time logged.

August 18, 20232 yr Author No space, txs for replying. Suspect this has something to do with the F28 panel configuration but it had been working well for years and then all of a sudden the FSSound.dll error followed by panels that will not be loaded. Read somewhere that the sound config also has to do with the panels config. After more than 20 years using MS sims, way back to FS98, thought had this figured out. FS9 loads ok until the Fokker F28 is install.
August 18, 20232 yr It's strange: I've just checked in my laptop, in FS9.cfg, and I have set this: [OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1 And there's a dll with that name at FS9 main folder\Modules. My plane flies with no issue at all. August 19, 20232 yr Author Txs for your interest assisting resolving this issue, appears not many are interested on FS9 and old add-ons. Have always added the [OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1 to the FS9.cfg even when installing both versions of the FS28, V1 and V1.1. However in the FS9 Modules the only entry that appears is the FSSound.dll. Do you have both entries in both, the FS9.cfg & FS9 Modules? Again txs, appreciate your assistance.
August 19, 20232 yr Author Luis: This are the errors am getting after reinstalling the F28v.1 and or V1.1. Errors starts with... "File:AIRCRAFT\PFJ Fokker F28-panel\Rp27.gau" (w/o the commas)...on and on for many different gauges...This acft worked perfectly until about 2 months ago and have since tried everything i can find trying to bypass the problem. Only happens with this aircraft. When loading FS9's original acfts the FSSound.dll error shows once but then continues to load FS9 normally. This is driving me bonkers!
August 19, 20232 yr You jinxed my sim! I did a flight with no issues. I rebooted and now I got the same problem 😝 Rebuilding fs9.cfg did not work at all. Looks like a Windows 11 update word-not-allowed up my system. EDIT: then another update, another reboot, and I'm back to normal 🤷♂️ Edited August 19, 20232 yr by Luis Hernandez Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. August 19, 20232 yr Author Glad you were able to correct the situation. I'm on Windows 10 and in the past fixed the FSSound, dll issue with the F28 by either reinstalling FSUIPC3 or doing a system restore,. Now neither works. Not a programmer but can't think of how the Windows OS can affect just one add-on aircraft. Aware FS9 and the Fokker is old 32-bit s/w but has always ran well in compatible mode on W10 64-bit. In these AVSIM Forums there has to be someone savvy enough to figure this one out, unfortunately no responses. Could very well be that a Windows 10 update may have something to do with this but I can't back track that far back to do a restore nor do I know how to isolate what update(s) may have caused the problem. Have always suspected that "updates" had something to do with the .dll errorrs in question but could never narrowed it down to Windows, Nvidia, Navigraph AIRACs, etc...updates. "Looks like a Windows 11 update word-not-allowed up my system"... What's that and how is edited? Edited August 19, 20232 yr by jgar
August 20, 20232 yr I spoke too soon: I started to have the same problem again. Fortunately, I guess I found the solution: 1) Make sure your FSSound.dll is dated June 18th, 2004. I'm sure the PF installer has this version. 2) Remove those [Oldmodules] FSSound.dll=1 lines. For this DLL version, the tweak is no longer needed. August 21, 20232 yr Author Again, thanks - appreciate your help. I have been following this dll issue for a long, long time now. Until recently have been able to correct it. FS9 loads fine even after receiving the dll error, however, when switching acft to the F28 it will not load it followed by a series of errors, i.e., File: AIRCRAFT\PFJ Fokker F28-panel\Rp727.gau, B737.ga, repeatedly for the same two gauge files - wonder why? Have uninstall. reinstalled the aircraft several times with the same results. Familiar with Opa's and Mr Barendregt postings, have exchanged emails with them in the past. Will continue pursuing this, there has to be a reason why this Project Fokker is not loading/processing the panel.cfg file correctly. I am a "die.hard" so will not give up until I figure this out.
August 21, 20232 yr Author Luis: Finally was able to install the Fokker F28 acfts and load it without the .dll issue. No longer receiving the FSSound errors loading the panel.cfg. Now have to reload my brain to figure out what corrected the issue, haven't done anything different that in the past and would like to have it as "Lessons Learned", am sure the dll error will show its face sooner or later again!. BTW, always had the FSSound.dll dated 6/18/2004 V1.6.0.15 and while in the past had added the OLDMODULES entry to the FS9.cfg today I did not. Thanks for your help and interest...muchas gracias!
September 4, 20232 yr Author Luis: Spoke too soon back in August 21st...am back to square one with this .dll issue.
