Advice on upgrading from FSX standard to Deluxe

Featured Replies

I decided that I want to use the FSX SDK so I recently bought the deluxe addition of FSX. I already have the standard edition along with some user created planes and UTX USA.Is there a recommended way to upgrade to Deluxe? I'd like to do a full install and activate with my new serial number so I can give away my old Standard edition FSX to a friend. Can I install over my old FSX without reinstalling my extra planes and UTX?Regards,Drew

Did you ever get any info on this issue? I'm looking to do the same.

+1 for uninstalling. Can only imagine how things could end up trying to install over existing, if its even possible.

Thanks gentlemen!! I thought that would be the most prudent course of action. I unstalled 'Standard' and installed 'Deluxe' and everything seems fine. I had to reconfigure my controls but that wasn't a complete surprise. Thanx again. G.
