Questions re the Inibuilds/MS A310

Featured Replies

Just a couple of quickies. I'd not taken much notice of this before now but saw it in some screenshots and thought I'd have a play with it.

First question - is this aircraft particularly known for being a big resource user? It may just be that MSFS has been having one of its slow days today but I found using this aircraft is reducing my framerate by about 25-30%. Tried it at EDDS and KOMA, same both locations.

Next - I saw some passenger cabin interiors on flightsim.to, but can't see any way of getting in to the passenger cabin on this aircraft. Tried my usual two methods (just rotating the interior camera and moving around, and using the drone camera) but neither works. Is there a cabin by default or is the whole interior a mod that I've missed.

Neither of these are biggies, I've got plenty of other aircraft to use, but I sorta like the look of this one and it would be nice to use it occasionally.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

It hits a little harder than say, the PMDG 737 but I don't consider it a heavy resource user.   It's a little hard for me to say though, since I can just "brute-force" performance over any problems with my 7800X3D.

Did you download the "Enhanced" A310 in the Marketplace (free)?

Also, you can open the cockpit door and get in there that way.

Hi Rhett,

thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't expect it to be a particular resource hog as it was a freebie, albeit from IniBuilds, so I'll live with that.

As for the enhanced version, I thought I'd downloaded it (it was showing as "owned") but maybe I never did. I installed it again and all is good now, thanks. My version had the cockpit door thing working, but you could only get into the galley, not beyond that in to the pax cabin. I can dronecam into it now though so I'll probably set up some camera views at some point. I don't use the big tubes much anyway, but I quite like the appearance of this one. Sort of "big but stubby".

Thanks again

I'm really looking forward to their A300-600.   It's a little less stubby, but I agree, there is something about the early Airbus that I like.

When I was a little kid the "Airbus" was the newest great novelty in airliners.  Only two engines but a widebody...unheard of!  Back then I had a little plastic model of a 727 and I think a DC-8.  They were festooned with engines all over the place.  And then there is this new thing from Europe with only two engines and big wide body.  And then they got ETOPS going and here we are.
