September 27, 20232 yr Commercial Member It looks like you were reading back the descent instructions and something you said was interpreted as "...Close our flight plan". That triggered the closing of your flight plan. The rest of the readback, which makes no sense, was interpreted as an initial contact attempt and because you had no flight plan, you got the plan out of date message. To recover from this, you could have Filed your flight plan and then made initial contact with the contorller and it should have gotten you back on track. September 27, 20232 yr Author Dave, would I benefit from re-training my voice in P2A? I've been having trouble with the squawk interpretation for a while now. I know that I originally used a Plantronics mike and now I'm using the Reverb G2 microphone. That could make a difference.
September 27, 20232 yr Commercial Member Yes, training might help. Every time you train, Windows gets a little better at understanding you, and since your voice might be different coming through a different mic, it does make sense to do the training again. Dave
September 28, 20232 yr Commercial Member No. The Windows Speech Training. Go to Grammar Help. In bottom right, click on "Train" button. A Language Trainer window will pop up and you launch the Training for each of the controllers in the "Full Training" box on the left. Dave
September 28, 20232 yr Author Dave, that confused me, and, you know I've been a long time user. We're talking the P2A app running and then Grammar Help, not some link I go to in Win11. Your instructions in the 4.0 User Guide, should be the same thing. Edited September 28, 20232 yr by sandiego
September 29, 20232 yr Commercial Member Yes. That's correct. But when you get to Grammar Helper, you Press Train in the bottom right. That opens the Language Trainer that then has scripts that run through Windows Language Trainer to train Windows on P2A's phrases, as spoken by you. In the Full Training box, you select a controller type, then press the Train button in the Full Training box to start the Windows training. Dave
