I know this used to work, but for some reason running into a problem today with it.  Using 2.6.4.2 with MSFS 2020, GA flight. Simbrief loaded flight plan.  The flight plan validates and loads fine.  When I contact Center to request IFR clearance, I get no response. I do have two errors in the trace log file.  Not sure if they're significant or a red herring.   I am using the speech assistant function and not speaking myself.

I believe KDAL is Dallas Love field with a Clr Del, ground and tower frequencies, so don't call Center for clearance.

There is obviously an error there at the end of your log post.  Try installing the Beta 7F update over the base program.  It fixes a large number of errors and bugs.

KDAL is where i started my flight, but I was 100 miles away from it in the air when I was trying to reconnect and resume a P2ATC session.   It worked fine when as you noted, I contacted CD on the ground.  I had to restart the program while in flight and unless I'm misremembering, in the past, contacting the current center frequency and requesting IFR clearance would "reset" things and you could resume having ATC coverage. 

In flight, you would File the flight plan and then just check-in with Center to resume the flight:

"Center, <CallSign> at Flight Level 320" would do it.

Then you get a squawk code, Center gives Radar Contact once you're squawking and all goes on from there.

I still would update to Beta 7F as it does fix a lot of bugs.
