November 12, 20232 yr The Corsica Island, in the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its warm climate, spectacular mountains, and stunningly beautiful coastlines. It has two other historical significances: It was the birthplace of the French historical icon, Napoleon Bonaparte. “On Corsica I was given life, and with that life I was also given a fierce love for this my ill-starred homeland and fierce desire for her independence..." It was also the island from where my aviation hero (and author) Antoine de Saint-Exupery, on July 31, 1944, during the morning hours (similar to the morning of my images below), took off into the skies (the same skies where I'm roaming here today) on what was to be the last of his missions. He was never to be seen again and an enduring mystery was born that persists to this day. Hope you enjoy these pictures...! Thanks for viewing.
