December 2, 20232 yr Today, to add a bit of more variety to my (PMDG) 737-600, I picked up another pack of Liveries from the Xbox Marketplace. So, the two available Livery Packs (1 and 2), now gives me 20 (classic) airline liveries for this 736. It's to be noted that, for one more reason, there is control over the release of 737NG repaints for Xbox 737 users. It's a double-edged sword, so to speak...On one hand, you're guaranteed of accurate and consistent (PMDG) quality liveries (e.g., there is no possibility of wrong font for the logo, or mis-aligned name tag...🙂...not that I mind these occasional errors too much, especially when I would get the repaints for free from freeware contributors, so, sending a (courtesy) note to the painter, does it for me...). Anyway, here, for the 736, on the other hand, these livery packs are not totally free, e.g., $5 for each pack of 10 liveries. I now recall, with (bygone aka. FSX) PMDG/iFly 737NG, my [fltsim.x] counter that defines the number of liveries you've installed, had reached [fltsim.90+] ...🙂...thanks to the (overly) abundant supply of freeware 737 repaints... In my new livery pack, here, I found a bold, red-striped livery (I like all bright red repaints...🙂...) for Flyglobespan, which was a (short-lived) LCC airline based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and operated for just about 6 years, between 2003-2009. I also noticed while looking up this (737-600) Registration (G-CDRA) that this (Baby) Boeing (airframe) was originally delivered to SAS in 1999, then it flew for Air Europa, before Flyglobespan leased this same airframe from SAS in 2005, and operated it, for 3 years, as (G-CDRA), see images below, before returning to it to the lessor. Now, SAS and SAS Braathens, during merger, actively shared their 736 fleet under their respective brand recognitions. So, I've also picked, for my post, here, a SAS Braathens livery (LN-RRY), to go with Flyglobespan. Please find, below, a Flyglobespan 736 lifting off from Glasgow (EGPF) Runway 05 (5 pictures), and then a SAS Braathens 736 (9 pictures), touching down, also at the same Glasgow (EGPF) airport, but in the reverse direction on (ILS) Runway 23, while roaming the skies above these Scottish woodlands, just as Flyglobespan was doing years ago... Hope you enjoy these 2 sets of pictures of the Baby Boeing, in the colors of these two (partner) airlines...both now ceased and dissolved from their original existence...! Thanks for viewing.
