December 18, 20232 yr I suggest that you leave the folders in their original places, since trying to move them is an invitation to trouble (as you have discovered). A quick and convenient way to locate these files when you need to, is to set up shortcuts on your desktop -- much better than to try to rename the files. I assume you know how to do this.

I don't usually bother replying to these however in this case I will. I don't need someone to question why I need to do this, or given a lecture on why not to do it.... nor the sarcasm at the end. Thankfully with my almost 30 years as Microsoft system admin, to the present date, starting from Windows NT 3.1 all the way though to Windows Server I've been able to work out how to create a desktop shortcut. If you don't have constructive advice please don't comment at all. Anyway, enough of my rant... I've managed to sort it out. After digging though the folder hierarchy more I found there were some inherited permissions from the original install locations that won't travel with the folders when moved to a new directory. After sorting that out I have the it all running fine. Edited December 19, 20232 yr by Echoes

I have encountered some people who do not know how to make a shortcut. I was merely making a suggestion; sorry I tried. Had I been aware of your long experience with Windows and your evident touchiness at receiving advice, I would not have bothered. Next time, be assured I won't.
December 19, 20232 yr Well said Cobalt. It was better than mine that I was preparing, which was: Wow! - You requested help - Hundreds saw your request - Only four responded - Cobalt was one of them - His response was a suggestion that included an acknowledgement of your skills - In response, you ranted against his help No wonder some of us here are reluctant to ask questions, or offer help
