black screen after startup P3Dv5.4

Happy New Year to all...

I have read all of the posts on both P3d forum and Avsim concerning this problem that is plaguing me and a lot of others.

None of the sugestions (that have worked for some) are working for me.

I get the start-up scenario screen and can do everything on it..i.e.  change airport;open options;etc.

After hitting the ENTER key,I get the progress bar....then to the BSOD !!  Opening the Task Manager  I see the first entry is

"Prepar 3D exe(2).....3,298MB %

I've uninstalled;re-installed all;Deleted ALL my Add-ons;and tried all the suggestions offered by others.

Still no luck.

The only option that works in the Nuke -it....the dreaded 'delete generated files' which gets me back to vanilla.

I am running Global Traffic;Oxbx;ASP3D....all without any problems.

Where I run into the wall ...is when I start to add the Addon airports.....however I've learned to add 1 at a time,and then start the Sim and test the

airport.. I previous attempts...I've crashed after 2 attempts....and been able to get as far as 19 attempts.

I only have 21 airports in the folder.Funny thing is....its not the same airport the buggers the Sim each time !!!

I know there has got to be and easy answer....but I'm lost !!!

That (2) I highlighted suggests to me that you have an unterminated instance of P3D still running in the background.  Before you start P3D, check with Task Manager, Process Explorer, Process Lasso etc to ensure that there isn't a copy of P3D still in memory.  If it is, try forcing it to close/terminate, or better still, reboot.

First easiest thing to try is new drivers for your 2080Ti.  Because you may have GPU driver issues, you should certainly use DDU (in Safe Mode) to clean your system before upgrading.  Download DDU from the Wagnardsoft website (the Portable/Self-extracting version works fine).  Download the latest Nvidia drivers and disable your Internet connection before installing.

Next, you should make sure all the MS Visual C++ Runtimes are installed.  We all have any number of addons running alongside the sim, and any of them requiring a Runtime can cause problems.  The best all-in-one Runtime/Redistributable package I've found is from Techspot ... download the "All Visual Studio C++ Runtimes" option.  Simply run the installer and it will repair or install missing C++ packages.

I have (3) Prepar3d v5.3HF2 running in my task manager and have no problems.
