FSX screen resolution limited to 1280x1024

Featured Replies

Help! I have been running FSX full screen resolution at 1280x1024 on my old monitor. I just got a new monitor with a max resolution of 1920x1200. My video card is capable of 1920x1200 and up to 2048x1536, as shown in XP display properties. FSX looks great in windowed mode at 1920x1200. However, FSX full screen resolution list box does not show any resolutions above 1280x1024. I tried to delete fsx.cfg and let it FSX creat a new one with no luck.Anyone else ever heard of this problem? Thanks in advanceRon

Have you tried editing the display entry on the FSX.cfg file to show 1920x1200 rather than 1280x1024?

Have you tried setting the mode manually in the FSX config file?See the image below, with the arrow indicating the line you will need to change. Try it with Mode=1920x1200x32 .http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180570.jpg

That works! ...with one anomaly. If I go back into FSX display settings, to see if 1920x1200 has populated in the list box and is selected, the list box is still limited to 1280x1024. And to top that off it will reset one or more of the displays to either 1280x1024 or 1024x768. So as long as I don't visit FSX display settings fsx.cfg will stay at 1920x1200.I'd still like to get FSX display settings fixed at some point but in the mean time I can still fly. :)Thanks VictorThanks Carl
