January 27, 20242 yr I always start MSFS using a shortcut on my taskbar. Since a week or two MSFS (Steam) always gives me the option to start in Safe mode. Each and every time, no matter what. Annoying because I always have to wait for that message and then click on Normal mode. Today I discovered that when I start MSFS from within the Steam interface this does not happen...!!! Very odd! But having to open Steam every time also is annoying. Anyone knows what may cause this and how I can make my shortcut work as intended again, so without causing that Safe mode message every time?
January 27, 20242 yr No idea what causes it but it got so annoying for me I stopped using the shortcut and start it from Steam now. Also curious if anyone has a solution. EddieKABQ

January 28, 20242 yr Author Interesting discovery: I made a new shortcut on the desktop from within Steam and when I use that one I don't get the safe mode message... Unfortunately this shortcut can't be dragged into the taskbar (for some odd reason). The shortcut I have in the taskbar I made manually from the exe and that one leads to safe mode. Odd. I will use the desktop shortcut made by Steam from now on.

Same here. But somehow that doesn't seem to work with MSFS. I've got all addons that I need for MSFS in the taskbar though: very convenient (specially for those addons that you have to start after MSFS has been started). I usually start MSFS first so having that icon on the desktop isn't a real problem. It's better than having to have the Steam UI opened every time.
