Some people are reporting wild oscillations in altitude. Personally, it is flying fine for me. Probably 8-10 flights with no AP issues. But the people who have it, it is flight-ending.

No no. lol. Eight... one-hour legs. My ADD won't even let me do a two-hour flight. :)

I have been openly critical of this project but since v1.0 I have only had one issue that killed a flight. I have done probably 8 hour-long legs with no issue. There are some bugs… errant caution lights, unreliable direct-to behavior, wide turns over waypoints… but nothing terrible. This week it is my go-to plane. However, the second I get a WASM it goes in the hangar. lol. Nothing irritates me more on approach after an hour invested in a flight. If they address the remaining bugs I would actually recommend it! EDIT: oh wait, I forgot they jacked the price up! DEFINITELY not worth it. This is a $30 plane at best.

Hey Ron, Not yet. I had a busy weekend but will likely hop into it in the next day or so. An hour seems like a minuscule amount of trial. I feel like it could take that long to get it set up. But will report back. EDIT: I see the launch price ends in 24 hours. So if I don’t buy it today, I’m out. No way it’s work $60.

Well I guess I am off to download the trial. I do love a good ATC program!

Almost 60 bucks for this is wild. $28 seems about right but if they are gonna double that I can’t imagine it seeing a lot of users.

This is what I do. However, if you ignore the vectors it will give you more extreme vectors to get you the point it had intended to vector you to. And it doesn’t allow you to do a “field in sight” so they will hand you off to tower. The fix for that for me is ignore the vectors then switch to tower on your own when established. I will say, overall, it has gotten pretty good. I quite enjoyed it on my three flights yesterday.

This is 100% a bug. My friend is a QXE Captain and says “No, there’s no master caution for that. Because while system logic knows that ECS is on (in the takeoff init) it doesn’t know if you want the APU on for another reason. You’d get one if you forgot to set the engine or wing anti-ice to on when the temp is below the threshold.” Of course the “experts” in the Discord all assured me it was correct behavior. Because, ya know, FSS is the gold standard for E-Jets.

After I spent 3 hours TRYING to map my Honeycomb Bravo (pretty unsuccessfully) I decided to quit tinkering and just fly. Taxied onto the runway and… ORANGE SCREENS. I rage-deleted it from my community folder and, since they call this the release version, I am done. 3 and a half years of frustration and no more. I will chalk it up to money wasted and live with the fact that I just can’t fly an E-Jet in this sim.

Yep. All correct. I DO still want to fly it, especially since I paid for it over 3 years ago and it is such a common aircraft IRL. Of course, when I tried today, it wouldn’t activate. Ooops. They released a patch and I’m at work now. So I will try AGAIN tonight to fly the plane I paid for 3 years ago. LOL. Better late than never?

Same! I get it if there was a potential piracy issue but with a subscription service what would I do with that information. I guess what irked me the most was the egotistical “that’s how it is” attitude that has become pervasive with their staff.

THIS is why I will never go back to SI. I have subscribed at least 3 times (one was annual.) When it frustrated me as they worked out a bug I would take a break and watch Discord. When they’d add a feature or squash a bug I’d read about it and re-sub. After 3 pretty flawed flights I got frustrated and cancelled. Went to Discord and was locked out. I reached out to support and was told “yeah we decided to make it a benefit for subscribers only.” I told him that I thought that was a bad idea and his response was pretty much “yeah that’s how it is now.” So I am making the best of BATC for now and it seems to be getting better.

Agreed. I ran out of Premium on my last flight and I honestly can’t tell the difference. In some instances the Premium are actually worse with weird pronunciations (alti-MEEETER, etc.) Man I wish that was the case for me. On my last flight I was given FIFTEEN vectors in 13 minutes! 285-300-285-270-290-305-325-290-300-320-360-025-040-055-075 until established. It was MADDENING. Thank god for the auto-reply button! 😜

Same. I never had issues with Pilot2ATC. Ever. Yet the Artificial Intelligence solutions can’t even get close and you have to ignore many of their instructions. Yes P2A was “on rails” but it always seemed to get me there reliably. Why don’t I just go back? The robot voices… UGH. As someone mentioned earlier, BATC is great for ambience. Just ignore the vectors and descend when you need to and it works pretty well.

Yeah I just had a BATC flight where I started getting vectors 145 miles from the airport. And they were ping-pong vectors; turn left heading 045… turn right heading 070… turn left heading 050… every 30 seconds. You should see the zig zag on Volanta before I ignored them and went back to following the flight plan 🤣

I just ignore all altitude descent instructions from BATC. I figure my TOD and do the descent anyway. When I get close enough to pick up the ILS I self-vector and fly the approach. I can’t believe after all these years they still get something as simple as descents and vectors ironed out.

I think they painted themselves into a corner at FS Expo by promising an update within a week. They had to release something and this is the mess they sent out.

As an owner I have to agree with Fiorentoni. It is a dumpster fire that is unflyable. And WORSE than it was when I bought it two years ago. It seems with every update they introduce new issues. I used to be able to at least (poorly) complete a flight. For about the past year I can’t even get in the air without rage-quitting. They are a textbook lesson in what to avoid from a developer.

How do we get it?

I was a member of the beta team and will say I totally enjoyed it. Like in a ‘rush home and play every night’ kind of way. It had bugs, but Matt was quick to note them and, I assume, has fixed them. I am just learning helis and bought the H145 (I need the stability system) and this product gives that flying a purpose. It’s priced about $10 more than I had hoped but when you figure cost per hour of entertainment it’s really a fair price.
