I was running Flashlight successfully (P3d v5.4) until I recently deleted Navigraph's Simlink. After the deletion, the remnants popped up a message about having to start Simlink manually and also Flashlight would not start at all. I got rid of that message by cleaning up some left over Simlink files but, after uninstalling Flashlight and reinstalling it, the Flashlight window opens for a second or two then closes completely. This happens both in P3d and if I just try to start Flashlight from the Start menu. I have the proper settings in P3d per the user manual.

Cure or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry, but I have no idea what "Simlink" is supposed to be. Never heard of it before.

My best bet is that uninstalling and "cleaning up some left over files" compromised SimConnect somehow.
-> Check if there is a SimConnect.cfg file in "Documents" - if there is, rename or delete it, there shouldn't be one. This file was only necessary for pre-P3D SimConnect clients and only when running on another computer.
-> You can follow the usual tip of "install all legacy SimConnect clients", but this will do nothing for the Flashlight app - it is native P3D V5 and doesn't require any additional client
-> Repair P3D using its installer -  just in case.

Also, maybe delete the config file(s) of the flashlight so it can built a new one.
