X-Plane version not working

Featured Replies

I recently purchased Axis and Oh's and have used the MSFS version with no issues. Yesterday I tried the X-Plane version, 4.10 b51, and when I go under the menu "Scripting/Scan XPLANE files for DataRefs and Commands/ the application quits

Be mindful that the X-Plane version is still a prototype - as mentioned in the product description.

Most likely there is an incompatible or broken file in your simulator. Nobody else has reported this (=none of the testers), so it is not a common thing I suppose. I will see if I can force this to happen somehow and then catch it, so it won't happen in the next version.
Doesn't really matter though, you don't have to do the scan. You can always use DataRefs and Commands manually in scripts or add them to the database.

So you can't assign axis or buttons at all? It doesn't connect? Or is it just about the file scan?

I have noticed I am having problems importing Datarefs. Commands are fine.

What kind of "problems"? How are you importing them (=are you running the scan or are you importing them individually?)
I would need to know which files are affected and what they look like.

If you want to help, then please send me an email with your proof of purchase and one of those files to the support address. And, when the app is forcibly closed by Windows due to an error, look for a ".NET Runtime" error message with more details in the Windows Event Logs. I would need the stack trace from that message, then I could at least prevent the CTD.

The core problem is, that these files have no standartized format. AAO can run into trouble with every single one.

If stability cannot be improved, I will just remove the scan entirely. There are other tools for this purpose already around in the XP world.
