Rhythmic Stutters after Upgrading Graphics

Recommended Posts

I am having some stuttering issues that's driving me crazy. System is an i7 10700k, 32 GB DDR4 3200 ram, RTX 4070 ti Super graphics, 1 TB and 2 TB nvme SSD drives.

I recently swapped the graphics card (coming from an RTX 3090 that I am using in another system) and that seems like when the problem started. I used DDU to uninstall the old drivers and also cleared the shader cache as recommended in several videos. From what I understand, the sim can stutter when generating shader cache for the first time. However, this occurs every single time the sim is started and lasts about 5-6 minutes before finally stabilizing.

I have even gone as far as upgrading the entire system from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and completely reinstalling the sim. Results in the same problem.

I have run the game in DX11 and DX12 and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I have also tried disabling various addons in the community folder with not much success. The stutter seems to occur with more complex aircraft, but not necessarily always.

When you install driver have you install something related to the sound ? Don't remember the exact name but it is the last line when you check what you want to install, untick it last time

Are you using SPAD? When you first spawn in, it takes some time to scan for LVARs. The time can be adjusted in a cfg file. I’m on my phone but there’s more info in the SPAD discord on how to adjust it.

That might be it. There were so many updates all at once when I did this it was hard to isolate the cause. SPAD never used to do this to my sim, but there are always updates.

Is it related to the LVAR bridge plug-in? Because this happens even when SPAD isn't running.
