May 7, 20242 yr Hi, I am currently just trying the demo of AAO to see if it's something I want to buy. I'm trying to use the Z axis on my joystick to control the cabin heat on the Black Square Analog Bonanza, and I can't seem to get it to respond. I get the feeling I'm not using the Lvar provided by the developer correctly. I can get the axis to work with the cowl flaps through AAO, but when I enter the Lvar for cabin heat (L:XMLVAR_Cabin_Heat_2_Position) nothing happens. I don't really know what I'm doing with this, so not sure how to explain it better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kat Edited May 7, 20242 yr by katchaplin add clarification

When LVars are to be synchronized with the sim, they must contain a Unit (otherwise AAO treats them as internal Variables) So the correct spelling is (L:XMLVAR_Cabin_Heat_2_Position, Number) 2. Where are you entering this? On the Axis dialog, where it says "Enter variable"? If that is the case, lose the brackets. You only enter "L:XMLVAR_Cabin_Heat_2_Position, Number" in that box. Mind the space character 3. This will only work when you know the actual value range for that LVar. I've just looked into the sim, Axis Min must be set to 0 and Axis Max to 100.
