possible bug....

Featured Replies

This applies to x-touch and aa&o. If an encoder is first programmed as "right" "left" and toggle, the "click" of the encoder is fully recognized and saved in the combo field. I am able to save all the functions, and use it without any issues.

So long as the original encoder is used as it was first programmed, everything works fine.

The  bug in AA&O appears only when I want to use all the same programmed functions, but with a different encoder in x-touch.  For example, if encoder 1 is used for NAV1 for whole numbers left and right, and fractional numbers left and right, with the toggle option in the combo field, the right and the left rotaries commands are recognized correctly. If, however, I want to use encoder 2 instead of encoder 1 for exactly the same NAV1 functions, I cannot enter the "click" press of encoder 2  in the combo field . It always registers as a "left turn".

I want to emphasize that this is a problem only when the combo field has a pre-existing button assignment and I am trying to use a different button.

My apologies if all of this is not very clear. If, in fact, you can't confirm this  possible bug,  I will have to make a movie in order to illustrate it more clearly. I will send it via support.

I've raised this issue before, and you've stated that you cannot replicate it. I've checked to make sure that all the x-touch encoders are properly configured.

This sounds like normal (albeit unwanted) behavior. In reality there are no left, right, turn or click messages in MIDI. MIDI is the Musical Instruments Digital Interface (established in 1980something) and all it sends are musical notes or CCs, with a number symbolizing the velocity (=volume) of the note. AAO tries to figure out what may be happening on the XT by comparing the current num value with the one before it. There is always room for error, and some situations can't be resolved without compromizing others.

Try disconnecting/reconnecting AAO by clicking on the green LED. That should reset MIDI too.

I've just taken a look, but I am unable to reproduce this behavior. When I open a previously assigned "full-MIDI" button to change the Combo, it works every single time - they are all registered as CLICKs.

Are you quite certain that your XT is set up correctly (=factory defaults? custom configuration? MC mode or normal mode?) and is sending the correct/expected messages? Make sure that there are no conflicts between the turn action and the click action (=they cannot have the same note or CC assigned in the Behringer software!)

I will review all the configurations, and then make a video of my issue. As I've stated, the abnormal behavior is such that trying to describe it in text form is difficult. thank you for input. Great program...

I'd suggest you wait for version 4.20. There is always a chance that something got fixed by accident. 4.20 is expected to be released shortly after MSFS SU15 (to make sure that there aren't any last-minute surprises)
