The Shorts on Youtube will keep playing other unrelated shorts as you scroll down, do not allow comments or information text, and they are tiny screen videos. They really are for phones, not desktop monitors.

If you don't want to see any YT Shorts on your PC desktop, then just search (control F) for "Shorts". In the Shorts section click on the X on the top right. This will disable YT recommending shorts for 30 days. They will come back in a month and you can click the X again if you want.
