December 14, 200718 yr I have been contemplating video with FRAPS but in the interim, have been videoing with FSX just to check things out. I have found that if I start the recording process before I drop the gear, upon playback, it doesn't show the gear coming down or the reversers moving. The plane lands about 3 feet off the ground just fine and stays there, with no gear visible? Can anyone explain why this is?I am using a Quadcore 2.4 with an 8800 GTX video card, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I would think not becuase I had it running on another machine and it did the exact same thing? December 14, 200718 yr Did you used a default airplane?I just tested it with the default Mooney:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEFtDfDt5xcRecording interval was set to 1/2.
December 15, 200718 yr Moderator Good recording, but good grief man... I sure wouldn't want to fly with you! :) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 15, 200718 yr @BillThanks, i would also not fly with me. Only one reason, why i love FSX :)@Falk781I think your problem is caused by an add-on airplane. Recording with "complex" airplanes and add-ons is critical. I just tried to record my leveld 767, landing on Friday Harbour, but i got always a CTD (demo.dll).With the great Eaglesoft Twin Comanche, which i really love, i get a MS VC++ Runtime Error (Pure Video function call, R6025).I guess, some add-on airplanes are doing many things in a different way, than the default airplanes and FSX doesn't know that by recording.I will now test with fsrecorder (http://www.fs-recorder.net/).
December 15, 200718 yr Ok, tested and it works with FS Recorder and the Twin Comanche:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Suv7Koq3niw :)It's a great fun, to use this fantastic tool and this tool records all events (you only have to check the settings). Only some animations are missing (e.g. gear lowering).
December 15, 200718 yr Author I have used some "aftermarket" planes but I will try the FS recorder and see what it does. Scott Falkowitz Core I7 965 - OCZ 6GB - Asus Rampage Extreme - 1000W - BFG 285 - Radiated Liquid Cooled - Twin 300 Raptors - Vista 64
