July 8, 20241 yr Hi all Hi have the MD530F and using it in FSX se. I have built a MD500 full scale sim from a Hughes 300 cockpit and I am using a real MD500 collective cyclic and pedals. I have the macro file for fsuipc and have a assigned my twist grip on the collective to pitch 1 and assigned the collective starter button to the macro command in fsuipc. I have followed the YouTube clip. on how to start the engine. I can get the engine to start but when I go through the start up the larger N2 needle moves quick and the smaller needle stays where it is, then the lager needle drops back and eventually after a little time the smaller needle and the larger move together to the idle position of about 68% On start both N2 needles should move together but somewhere in the start up I can't seem to achieve the same start as in the video Anyone with any help I would be very grateful Regards Rhys
July 10, 20241 yr Commercial Member Are you using a twist grip? There is a note in the docs folder: • The twist-grip throttle in the 530 incorporates a fuel cutoff as well as replicating enabling the governor when fully open. It also has an idle release function built in. Due to these included features, it is not currently recommended to bind the twist grip to a hardware controller. • Due to the replication of a proper turbine engine start-up procedure, using CTRL+E will not introduce fuel during the automatic start-up process. It is required to open the throttle manually to continue start-up, and to roll the throttle fully open to the governed position for flight. • The simulator currently only allows the engine governor increase / decrease function to be operated by key bind; the toggle switch on the pilot’s collective is inoperable. (The keybinds you want are ENGINE TRIM RPM INCREASE & ENGINE TRIM RPM DECREASE ) Also note: Skip the step in the before start checklist where it says Throttle FULL OPEN, GROUND IDLE, then CUTOFF. If you do that , it will cause a hot start. Start cranking the engine, do not add fuel until minimum 13%, I usually let it stabilize at 20% before adding fuel. July 10, 20241 yr Author H Slayer68 Cheers for response. In fsuipc I can't seem to find the (The keybinds you want are ENGINE TRIM RPM INCREASE & ENGINE TRIM RPM DECREASE ) Is that under another name in fsuipc. in fsuips I can assign up to 10 ranges for different commands with the throttle axis All though I understand as you mentioned its not recommended to assign a twist throttle Cheers Rhys
