P3Dv5.4: black boxes - no lightning

Featured Replies

I suspect this has been debated before but can't find any relevant info via search function.  The solution given at HIFI is to refresh the shader cache; done that many times with no joy.  I run AS 5 with ASCA.  I get plenty of CB/TS but no lightning in external view and just black boxes flashing instead a "lightning reflection" when in cockpit.  Just wondering if anyone has solved this.

Thanks

GFX card drivers perhaps ?

What's the specs ?

I note you'd raised the same issue in October last year where you updated the GFX drivers and reported back all good.

What's changed since then ?

Cheers

Sorry for late reply... specs are the same.  Now, symptoms are intermittent.   Latest drivers installed before OP.  If I use stock wx with TS selected I get great lightning.  I've posted this on the HIFI forum.  so maybe they can come up with something.

Believe it or not I did search but didnt see my old post  -- forgot about it anyway.

I wonder if [company name removed] would affect lightning -- I've had that installed for 18 or so months.  I think it is for ground lights...

Thanks.
