July 17, 20241 yr Hello, Lorby: I've been away from the sim for awhile but I'm back and I'm trying to connect the X-Touch Mini to AAO (actually with the X-Touch Gauge), but that's only after I can get the X-Touch to work with AAO by itself! So, here's what I've got: AAO version 4.30 b12 for MSFS. I downloaded AAO and installed it per your instructions. The X-Touch is the latest version and set up in "Standard" Mode (as opposed to MC Mode). When I try to assign the X-Touch as a device, it isn't there. However, MIDI Devices ARE enabled and when I "Show MIDI Devices", the X-Touch appears on both panels! I attempted to paste a screen shot of the Assign Button screen but the site wouldn't allow me to; so, when I clicked on "Device", it gave me the choice of "-", "Keyboard", "Mouse", and "Voice". I do not understand why the X-Touch and AAO won't play pretty. I'm hoping you have a clue because I haven't!

AAO does not work that way. Don't click on "Device". Just press a button or turn one of the encoders on the XT. LORBY-SI
July 17, 20241 yr Author Nothing happens if I am on the main screen of AAO and it is the active screen, pressing buttons do nothing. I must be missing something. But, that's why I'm here!
July 17, 20241 yr For sometime now, I need to disconnect and reconnect the usb cable as well as close and reopen aa&O in order for the device to be seen. It's a common problem with midi devices and usb ports.
July 17, 20241 yr Author Well, I tried that but nothing happens. However, the X-Touch does show up on the "Show MIDI Devices" screen.

To my best knowledge, that is only a problem when you are in the Windows Insider program and use the earlier channels, especially dev and canary? LORBY-SI

July 17, 20241 yr Author Well, that did work and the control then worked in the aircraft! I know you didn't write the X-Touch Gauge, but does the fact that I can now assign buttons mean that should work too? Also, before when I used AAO, I could never figure out where the information goes. In other words, where does this button appear on my system?

July 17, 20241 yr Author Oh, sorry. What I meant was - AAO must store the information I just created with the button press. It must go into a file somewhere. Before, I could never figure out where you stored that information.

Chapter 17 "Config files, database and log files" on page 134 You access the manual by clicking on the gray question mark button in the AAO main menu. LORBY-SI
