How to fix rivers and lakes turning black?

Featured Replies

Hello, I wanted to know if there is any way possible to fix the problem in P3Dv5 that the water turns an inky black color when flying at high altitudes?  It is so unrealistic and looks terrible and I've always wanted to try to fix this.

When I first takeoff and I'm flying low, the water does have a blueish tint to it but when I get to about 20,000 to 30,000 feet it's pitch black.

I was thinking if there is a specific texture that is causing this then maybe I can edit the texture to look more realistic but I have no idea how to figure out which texture is causing this.

I would appreciate any help,

Thanks

Do you use third party texture App. Have you tried verifying you ORBX scenery in ORBX Cental,

Yes I have verified all Orbx scenery.  I do use Aviationly Water Enhancement but that only replaces ocean water textures.  Even without it installed and just using all default water textures, the freshwater rivers and lakes turn black the higher I climb.  It's always been that way.  At lower altitudes the rivers and lakes have a blueish tint to them but once I get to about 20,000 to 30,000 feet, the rivers and lakes turns pitch black.
