It is worth it...

I have just upgraded my 2nd computer to Vista and I have been impressed with the changes from XP. My 1st computer is running XP Pro and is used for FSX (with all add on including PMDG 747). I am using a DX10 Card and have a dual core at 3.6. The big question is it worth upgrading to Vista to get the benefits of Vista and DX10?ThanksAndrew

According to benchmarks, you will get in general lower FPS than in XP, but you will gain DX10 compatibility. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I don't.

I have Vista and like it. The truth is that DX10 doesn't do much for FSX so for that reason, the upgrade to Vista is not worthwhile. It may be for other applications.

No.I have Vista on a new machine running FSX and am satisfied with the result, but no way would I consider it worthwhile to upgrade an existing computer from XP Pro to Vista. DX10 is not yet of any consequence for FSX.Art
