October 18, 20241 yr As above had a break of a few months now tried to run PSXT and it just gives me a white empty box (no program) when I try and run the .exe how can I get it running again - I think I have version 8.6.0?

Uninstall PSXT Remove the PSXT folder Remove C:\Users\yourname\AppDats\Roaming\PSXT Follow all instructions in the Quick Start Guide (don't forget to update the MS Visual C++ Distributable) thanks for the reply 1)so strangely when I run the psxt.exe it opens a window - but the window just appears minimized and all white color which I have never seen....is there anyway to full screen the program window as can see there is some text at the top left of the screen which might help trouble shoot but at the moment its to small to see? 2)also just checking to run the update to the latest version assume its as before in the folder running the "install new version" app?(which already tried) 3)What is the current version that I should be running? 4)memory is a bit hazy regarding how I set up everything originally - but In term of my traffic license where can I check the expiry and if I do a fresh reinstall where can I copy across the license key from or can I paste the whole file into the new setup from the old install? 5)also from memory think there was some requirement to copy across some of my pay ware airport codes to a folder - can you point me to the original guide for this and if I do a fresh install can i copy across some files/folder into the new install from the old install so I don't need to do this manual process again?

But there is maybe a Log.,txt file generated in your PSXT folder. Post that one pls. @3 See my website: 8.6.1 @4 No need to do something. PSXT will find it and show how many days are left. PSXT also runs without a license, so this is not the cause of your problem. @5 No, that is not needed (there is no networked support for PSXT anymore)

A professional license gives you historic traffic up to 4 weeks ago, on top of hat. The details about where a license resides is in the Quick Start Guide. However, you better get PSXT running first (the topic of your thread ...), before worrying about the license. @5 If you add a third party airport (payware or not) to MSFS, and there is also such a (MS/Asobo) airport in simaddon, you better remove the simaddon one. This is a general MSFS recommendation, not particular for PSXT. Edited October 20, 20241 yr by kiek

This is a general MSFS recommendation, not particular for PSXT. thanks for the replies but just to be clear for 5) - when I add a payware aiport (and I have many!) I will always remove the asobo from the install - however my query was on something different and specifically about PSXT - can't locate the original post/guide - but was pretty sure to get PSXT to work properly with my paywares I needed to manually copy a file/code for each payware airport (you seemed to have a master file of these for all supported payware airports)into a special PSXT folder in the main install location for PSXT (you appeared to have a special set of these files for all the supported payware airports like the ini builds heathrow - without this override PSXT did not appear to function with the ini version of heathrow) -so please can you clarify why this might have been required? -also if its still required can i copy across this folder from my old install or need to go through the process again?

No it is not required to copy or move any files (and honestly I really don't know or recognise what you were talking about ...a master file?) However, you must let PSXT scan for your add-on airports. If you check Automatic PSXT will scan for your airports in your Community and Official folders. If you uncheck Automatic you must specifly one or more full paths to where your add-on airports are stored (read more in the Manual, chapter 6). But I'm curious whether you have fixed by now your problem of this topic ....? Edited October 20, 20241 yr by kiek

(will try and find a link of your original directions if it helps) - question is then is this procedure still required for my marketplace payware airport and if yes can I just copy the related folder from my current install (which i have saved) - once I know the answer can then try the resinstall....

Aha, you were referring to the encrypted market place airport. Yes, the "trick" to solve that is still valid and needed. FAQ #37 describes the solution. Never buy addon airports from the market place! EDIT: I have just updated the text of FAQ #37: Since the airports update is no longer part of PSXT, you have to apply this trick after each archive update... And an archive update updates as well stock, simaddon as third party files. It is wise to make a batch file, and run it after each archive update. So again, one better not buy addon airports from the market place. Edited October 20, 20241 yr by kiek

(does this means the file overrrides for the payware airports are no long er included)

(does this means the file overrrides for the payware airports are no long er included) You have lots of question, note you are running out of my free service minutes 😉 @1 a .bat file contains the command line commands to copy the files. If you execute the .bat file the commands will be executed as if you typed them in. I'm sure you can find a short course on batch files in windows on the internet. @2 You will miss the extra gates (or even new terminals) that are normally available in the addon airport and the parking spots of stock airports are often less accurate and miss info about being cargo or not. @3 No, because you will miss the data of the last week. The archive is updated each week, so you will have the most accurate parking data (airlines come and go, aircraft types change, and so on). If you save a folder and put it back you would freeze the "reality" at a fixed week in time. @4 Formerly everything (code + data) was encapsulated in one installation package. That had the problem, that each change in code or data needed a full update. That has changed about a year ago. I have seperated the code, say PSXT, from 3 data files, dbase, archive and AIG-regcodes.xml. The data files are now checked upon updates once a day and downloaded and installed automatically. The installer for PSXT is now much smaller and downloads and installs very quickly. The airports are in the archive file. Edited October 20, 20241 yr by kiek
