November 10, 20241 yr Welcome to Mexico For Wednesday Nov. 13, 2024 Coast of Acapulco ‘Have never been to Acapulco or Mexico City but in this “fast put together excursion” we’ll do some sightseeing. From the port city of Acapulco de Juárez, (Acapulco) on the south coast of Mexico we will wind northward along highways, bi-ways and rivers to the Mexican interior to the capital city of Mexico, Mexico City. Along the way we’ll atop two volcanos: Popocatépetl an active stratovolcano, located in the states of Puebla, Morelos and Mexico, (central Mexico), in the eastern half of the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt and Iztaccíhuatl which a 5,230 m dormant volcanic mountain located on the border between the State of Mexico and Puebla within Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park. Popocatépetl Iztaccíhuatl Our Excursion: This trip is 326 nm with nine landings: A low as possible negotiating the terrain but rising to almost 18,000 ft to scale the and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes.
