  1. Aye Mike... tricky stuff but makes sense.. You are correct, can't just delete stuff from the Official contents as the sim see that it missing (from what you are supposed to have- as recorded in the cloud) and therefore will reinstall it every time. To uninstall or delete any official content; have to load up the sim and go to the content manager.. select and add-on (ie: the add-on for kcgx meigs field airport) and uninstall it from the content. .. In the process, the Meigs will be deleted from your official folder.. and by doing it via the content manager this conveys to the cloud that you have uninstalled so the MSFS System won't try to reinstall it. (Until such time that you install the addon). I have deleted/uninstalled every bush trip, xbox/MSFS livery, discovery flight, landing challenge and more via the content manager.. (over 30 gb worth),, and it stays uninstalled!! (I hope) lol
  2. 5. Scotland Tigers-5: UK Scotland: Perth (Scone) (EGPT) to Aberdeen (Dyce) (EGPD) For AVSIM Wed March 13th Flight: Perth (Scone) Airport EGPT Today we bring out the old bi-planes once again to continue this low and slow UK-journey- Scotland Tigers-Part 5 exploring the country of Scotland. We are in the extreme northeast quadrant of the Scotland mainland. This NE area is much more rural that our previous trips. It is much more wilderness, parkland namely Cairngorms National Park as well as farm land. We start this part five trip in Perth, Scotland which is the 13th largest city in Scotland. Once upon a time, Perth was the capital of Scotland and a picturesque playground for kings and queens. Today, the city is laced with gorgeous city architecture, unrivalled surrounding landscapes and an intriguing royal history. We’ll depart Perth to the west to a glider airfield then northward to another small field in the rural locations of Perth before heading east to the Scotland coastal area. On the way, we’ll overfly Blairgowrie and Rattray Burgh (twin suburbs of Perth), the towns of Forfar, Montrose, Stonehaven and finally we’ll reach the 3rd largest city of Scotland: Aberdeen. There are a few poi/landmarks along the way but many on both sides of the magenta line most of which are castles or castle ruins that are not depicted very well in MSFS. But there are plenty of golf courses to view. Again in this trip, although much more rural there are interesting locations such as dams, waterways, castles, ports, cities and towns as we travel. This part 5 of the Scotland Tigers totals 189 nm departing Perth (Scone) Airport (EQQI) with six intermediate stops at: Skydive Strathallan (EGAU), Blair Atholl Airfield (EGQI), Kirriemuir Farm Airfield (EGK1), Montrose Airstrip (EGMZ), Aboyne Airfield (EGAO) which is an official MSFS airport, and Insch Airport (EGIN) with our destination being in the third largest most populous city in Scotland: Aberdeen (Dyce) Airport (EGPD). This is another “low and slow expedition” using our favorite bi-plan! We won’t have too much time for doddling if we want to reach our destination. Time permitting; we’ll make our destination but no worries as there will definitely be a part six of the Scotland Tigers (someday), so that we can continue this trek exploring the country of Scotland. Flight Plan/Itinerary LINK: HERE Aircraft: DH82 Tiger Moth, Stearman, Bucker or similar: IE: Zlin Shock or Zlin Savage Carbon will work or any other aircraft that can stay @ 100kts to take full advantage of this landscape. * (Might use a Stearman for this trip.. a tad faster than the Ants Tiger Moth dh.82 but feel to use your choice of aircraft). 6. By change Alex, is there an airport db for P3Dv6 as well as xplane 11/12? that you use in LNM? It would be a big help in converting ICAO for sim specific FP in your lnm app. Thank-you in advance and appreciate all you have done for the flight sim community in your work. 7. After doing all of the regular stuff and more, go Microsoft tech on chat for almost 2 hrs. MS store was stuck updating a two video codecs which were under 2 mb. Since store is tied to the xbox app, xbox wouldn't start.. hence msfs wouldn't fire up. The ms store servers must have been on reduced snail pace. I, nor the tech could clear the store downloads even after uninstalling the store, resetting app, checking everything, reinstalling the MS Store. I was told by the tech, as per usual, to reinstall/update the windows OS.. Arg. NO WAY! This is a brand new PC and brand new OS. After multiple restarts and other commands affected . I just decided to leave store open with downloads hanging and wait it out. Checked every hour with little or no progress... ... .Now 8 hrs later.. finally.. MS store DL that were "stuck" for hours updating a 2 mb file finally showed installed.. only took 8 hrs.. oh my! But at least it completed. So I closed the store app, then shutdown, then restarted.. checked for updates.. all good.. Then checked updates in MS Store.. all Good... Then tried Xbox and it started up as intended as did MSFS. But now it is 20:45 my time.. a complete waste of the PC day! (Just a small VENT!) But yes is fixed. Sorry to miss your flight.. but it couldn't be helped! ARG... But I can fly it now!!.. Hmmm, I think I will use the RV14!!
  8. Arg... my PC was fine this am.. but 1 hr before flight time and the xbox app and store not working for some reason.... trying to do a repair on Gaming Services but getting an 0x8000ffff error.. Anyone else getting? Working on it!! Norm

  10. Depends what version of P3D... Earlier P3Dv1-2-3-4 are not as close whereas P3Dv4.5, 5-6 are much closer... It is not the airports so much per say, (ICAO could be different but it is the route that is important- as long as you have a valid ICAO at departure and at destination, (you might have to adjust the ICAO a bit but them the sim will load the route). If this makes any sense. Norm
  11. Sorry for the confusion.. a scan of LNM with new scenery is required and voila the affected airports is clear. Thanks Mike. Norm PS: Great videos.. thanks for including in the package!!
  12. Scotland Tigers-3: UK Glenforsa to Edinburgh - Wednesday, January 31, 2024 Glenforsa airfield Today we bring out the old bi-planes again to continue this low and slow Scotland Tigers-Part three of our journey in the UK, exploring the country of Scotland. We start this part three at Glenforsa (EG13) where we left off in the last trip. Today we’ll depart Glenforsa on the west coast of Scotland and head eastward to the Scotland Mainland and continue eastward until we reach the Scottish East Coast. Along the route of this trip there are many points of interest as we will visit as indicated on the lnmpln. The airport route: Departing: EG13 via EGEO EGKM EGPG EGKW EGGU to EGPH. The destination airport is in the second largest city in Scotland and the nation’s capital: the City of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and one of its 32 council areas. The city is located in south-east Scotland, and is bounded to the north by the Firth of Forth estuary and to the south by the Pentland Hills. Edinburgh had a population of 506,520 in mid-2020 making it the second-most populous city in Scotland and the seventh-most populous in the United Kingdom. Recognized as the capital of Scotland since at least the 15th century, Edinburgh is the seat of the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament, the highest courts in Scotland, and the Palace of Holyrood house, the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. It is also the annual venue of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. The city has long been a center of education, particularly in the fields of medicine, Scottish law, literature, philosophy, the sciences and engineering. The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582 and now one of three in the city, is considered one of the best research institutions in the world. It is the second-largest financial center in the United Kingdom, the fourth largest in Europe, and the thirteenth largest internationally. The city is a cultural center, and is the home of institutions including the National Museum of Scotland, the National Library of Scotland and the Scottish National Gallery. The city is also known for the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe, the latter being the world's largest annual international arts festival. Historic sites in Edinburgh include Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyrood house, the churches of St. Giles, Greyfriars and the Canongate, and the extensive Georgian New Town built in the 18th/19th centuries. Edinburgh's Old Town and New Town together are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has been managed by Edinburgh World Heritage since 1999. The city's historical and cultural attractions have made it the UK's second-most visited tourist destination, attracting 4.9 million visits, including 2.4 million from overseas in 2018. 15. Hi there, Alex et all. I now have 3.0.1 beta now installed on a brand new computer build.. so all is fresh and running MSFS sim.(only) On my old pc that blew up last week, I had the previous default sim airport db for FSX, P3Dv4, v5 as well as MSFS which is my current sim. I kept the previous lnm airport databases on my old system so I could refer to them for choosing common airports between sims for building group flights and tours at a virtual airline for multiple sim versions. (There are many that still use FSX, and P3D/various versions) On my new build, I overlooked backing up these sim airport db before formatting my old drive. Arg. Would anyone be so kind and have default airport database files for LNM: for sims: FSX, p3dv4 and p3dv5 that they could make available (post link to) for me to retrive for my LNM? Files are little_navmap_fsx.sqlite, little_navmap_p3dv4.sqlite and little_navmap_p3dv5.sqlite which are found in the LNM db folder: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel\little_navmap_db Thank-you in advance Norm (norm_richards@hotmail.com)

  17. Scotland Tigers-2: UK West Coast- Glasgow to Glenforsa Scotland: Glasgow-River Clyde Today we bring out the old bi-planes once more to continue this part two of our journey along the UK west coast of Scotland. We start this part two at Glasgow Intl. (EGPF) where we left off in part 1. After take of at Glasgow we head to the south west toward the Firth of Clyde, a bay containing the deepest coastal waters in the British Isles. (164m) but before we reach these waters, we’ll pass locations of the Johnstone Castle, Lochwinnock Golf Club (for Mike) and Glengarnock Castle. As we reach the Firth of Clyde we’ll pass Largs Yacht Haven which makes claim to be Scotland’s finest Marina. At this location, we leave mainland Scotland and head westward to some of the western outer islands and Inner Hebrides: Great Cumbrae Island over the town of Milport (flyover), visiting the Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute and landing at Bute airport. We’ll sight-see the Isles of Arran (fly over) and land at airports on the Isles of Argyll and Islay. From Islay Island we head northward traveling over the Island of Jura which hosts what is known as the “Paps of Jura”: three mountains on the western side of Jura Island then landing at airports on Colonsay, Tiree and Coll Islands. From Coll Airport we will route southeast via Loch Tuath and Loch na Keal and head for home for this trip at Glenforsa Airfield (EG13) on the Isle of Mull (inner Hebrides). From Glenforsa…well stay tuned… there will be a part 3! 20. The Stikine Icecap Excursion For Wed. Oct, 25, 2023 Introduction: Based on its real world counterpart, the JIRP (Juneau Icefield Research Program), this excursion takes us into the Stikine Glacier Icefields and we will explore 11 isolated icefield strips in the vast Stikine Icefields also known as the Stikine Icecap. The Stikine Icecap straddles the Alaska/British Columbia border. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stikine_Icecap) Background: The Stikine Icecap (sometimes referred to as the Stikine Icefield) is a large ice field straddled on the Alaska–British Columbia boundary in the Alaska Panhandle region. It lies in the Boundary Ranges of the Coast Mountains. Within the United States, most of it is under the administration of the Tongass National Forest and is part of the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness within the national forest. A good size ice field, the icecap is a primary source for both the Taku River, which forms its northern boundary, and the Taku's southern tributaries, and also the Stikine River and its lower western tributaries, notably the Chutine, which form its southern and southwestern boundary, respectively. The Stikine Icecap is the parent icefield of the LeConte and Sawyer Glaciers on its US side, and the Great Glacier on its Canadian side. Also on the Canadian side and entering the lower Stikine, like the Great Glacier, are the Mud and Flood Glaciers, which form the boundaries of the small Boundary Range, which is an eastern abutment of the range comprising the Stikine Icecap and marks the approximate boundary claimed by the United States prior to the Alaska Boundary Settlement of 1903. The Stikine Icecap area is also renowned for its technically demanding and dangerous peaks and spires of granite that have garnered comparisons as North America's version of Patagonia. Peaks of particular renown include Devils Thumb, Witches Tits, Cat's Ears, and the Burkett Needle. This area has is beautifully rendered with glacial textures and mountain ranges but has often remained a rarely traversed and underappreciated region. There's a great deal of stunning glacial wilderness scenery out there and this is an opportunity to test and challenge ones pilot's skills in visiting some interesting ice field destinations atop the Stikine Icecap and the mountain ranges. These wintry ice-field strips range from well-equipped regional supply centers to lonely, wind battered outposts. The Excursion: We depart from Petersburg, Alaska: (Airport ICAO PAPG) and we’re heading to Bronson Creek (Airport ICAO CAB5) in British Columbia, Canada. Between our departure and destination locations we are traveling via the Stikine Icecap or Stikine Icefields of the BC Kitimat-Stikine Regional District. Previously, in FSX and P3D we had RTMM scenery for the SIRP Ice Stations, now thanks to creator Karl-Heinz Klotz, an RTMM member and one of the top pilots at Misty Flying Club VA, we have these eleven Stikine Glacier Ice Field stations for MSFS. The approaches and landings on the ice fields are not easy, by any means, so recommend an overhead pass to establish your best approach for landing. The actual landing strips are very short but there are flat snowy areas beyond the strips to stretch out their length (if required!). We’ll finish the trip, time permitting, descending off the Hoodoo mountain range into the Bronson Creek Airport (CAB5) which was originally built to service the Snip Gold Mine. (Now closed) The full journey is 292 nm and the majority of it takes place in the Stikine Icecap which is mountainous and glacial terrain. We have 11 icefields to inspect Flight plans, weather preset and documentation download: LINK: HERE Aircraft: We’ll require a STOL type aircraft that can travel 150kts+ and that is durable to withstand higher altitudes and colder temps. A larger STOL Type aircraft: Caravan C208, DHC6 Twotter, Kodiak or similar. I will plan to fly the Caravan 208 in RTMM livery (livery creator (extraordinaire “billgranada”). https://flightsim.to/file/50517/cessna-208-rtmm-livery : And as always, please use your aircraft of choice. Time/Weather: If possible, and live weather. Set time for 1400 Local. Alternatively have added a nice atmospheric SIRP preset which is included in the FP Download. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Add-on Scenery – Pre-assembled package: Download LINK: HERE (for a short time...until after this tour run) NOTE: This download zip is 1.1 gb (expands to 4.4 gb) which includes the following: Alaska-airport-papg-petersburg-v0.2 (quelcertoleo) https://flightsim.to/file/14033/petersburg-james-a-johnson-papg (*There is also payware PAPG by DC Designs or by NSS. 21. Also found that LNM 2.8.12 can't import most csv userpoints. Getting Caught except message. File contains invalid data. Import stopped. So some type of bug importing. I reverted to LNM 2.8.11 and there is no problem importing custom user points from csv file using LNM 2.8.11 or previous versions. My temp solution was to import all my custom user points via LNM 2.8.11 csv then use LNM 2.8.12: All custom user points that were imported via LNM 2.8.11 (csv) are present in LNM 2.8.12 as saved/imported and saved in file little_navmap_userdata.sqlite. 22. Welcome to Northwest Scotland For Wednesday April 26, 2023 We'll do a 200 nm counter clockwise circular route from the town of Oban around northwestern Scotland: From North Connel (EGRO) airport and returning. A wee loch trip of sorts around some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. We'll travel eastward then northward along some of the Loch routes then we'll head westward following the water system to the Glenfinnan area then back to North Connel. (Pic of Oban: North Connel Airport - Credits to studioCD) Airport Route: EGEO, EGVZ, EG20, XBRO (EGEI), EGEO.
