aircraft automated scripts and template

Featured Replies

Hello,
I have written a few scripts for the Fenix A320 which I have saved as aircraft automated scripts.
My question: Is there a possibility to link these scripts with their parameters to my Fenix A320 template, or do I have to link these scripts again with every new livery for the aircraft?
Thanks for any advice

Stefan

When you save your current configuration as a template, the autoscripts will be part of that. So when you fly a new livery, and if AAO doesn't recognize it as a clone anyway, then you can link that template to this new livery.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, this does not work for me. I loaded my airplane with the template and the aircraft automated scripts and then saved the existing template again.
Then I loaded the airplane with a different livery and linked the template to the aircraft. The buttons and axes were there but not the aircraft automated scripts.

What does that mean exactly?

To recap: the axis, buttons and scripts that you see when an aircraft is loaded are called the "configuration". The config is loaded automatically.

"Templates" are just blueprints, to create "configurations" from, they aren't "active" so to speak. "Templates" can be created by saving a configuration as/to a template or by importing templates from files.

Working fine here. I can even see the linked autoscripts on the Aircraft Automated Scripts dialog.

To check it, I did this (in Offline Mode)

First Test:

- I activated Offline Mode and selected an existing aircraft config
- I added an autoscript, One Shot, Beginning, that triggers a SPEAK command
- Tested it with the config by switching to another one (click on the yellow aircraft name at the top) and then back
- Now I saved the config as a new template
- Switched to another aircraft config and linked the template (Templates-> Link a template to this aircraft -> select the template -> press "Toggle Link")

Result: my speak script is triggered every time I load that other config.

Second Test

- Loaded the initial config again
- Changed the autoscript from One Shot to Repeating
- Saved the config to the existing template, overwriting it
- Switched to the other config from before where I linked the template

Result: the autoscript is repeating with the other aircraft too.

Thanks for the hint “ I activated Offline Mode and selected an existing aircraft config”
With this it works.
I did not do this in offline mode but added the aircraft automated script to the respective aircraft and then thought that if I saved the template again, the automated scripts would also be saved with the template.
Thanks again for the detailed description

This has nothing whatsoever to do with the Offline or the SimConnect mode. It is working the same way in both modes. You must have done something wrong somewhere. I only used Offline mode because it was quicker to test.
