February 9, 200818 yr I have a few questions about the 747 400 from PMDG. It's a great plane, but I'm having some problems (probably due to my not knowing anything)1. Where can I get repaints for it?2. How do you turn on the panel/aisle lights? ( I see the buttons at the bottom of the overhead panel but those don't work when I click on them)3. The computer moniters are black, how do I get them to turn on?4. I have no control over the steering of the plane, (other planes work so it's not my joystick's problem) I think this is because to the problem with the screens but I'm not sure...5. When I takeoff as I increase thrust, a warning sound goes off for a few seconds as the engine thrust is increasing. Is this normal? Thanks!
February 9, 200818 yr Hope I can help with some of your questions. 1. http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/downloads.html2. Panel lights are located on the overhead panel. 3. If you start the plane it may have no battery power. Power up the battery on the overhead panel. If this does not work you may have a validation issue. Contact PMDG support.4. Warning signal may mean that you set you flaps in correctly. 20 will work. 4. Also you may get better support for you questions over at the PMDG forum right here on AVSIM.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=136 Mike Keigley
February 11, 200818 yr Author It seems that you have loaded your plane cold and dark. If this was the case, you need to bring all systems up and correctly configured before takeoff, or you'll hear the warning sound. It is a very complex plane, so if you've never operated one you'll need a tutorial. There are plenty on the web, just do a search. There is a very good one, in four lessons, at the documentation session of PMDG's website. It was made for FS9 but the step by step checklist will work with FSX too.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/down/docs.htmlThis plane has a very steep learning curve. But don't give up, it is VERY rewarding once you've learned to handle the beast.Hope this helps. Cheers,Sergio Sérgio Quadros
