P2A speech not recognized

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I already know that there have been many posts regarding this type of problem but dealing with msfs 2024 maybe it's something different. Anyway I install p2a, everything is fine, I do what the guide explains to me, I connect the whole simulator, but there is nothing to do, my voice goes through the microphone, because it works 100% (I tried other similar programs BACT, Fshud) but it does not arrive to p2a, I also thought that msfs 2024bmi was stealing, so to speak, the microphone, since it is written that msfs is using your microphone, surely a bug since I have the chat disabled. And so nothing done I tried, I think everything, I read most of all the posts here on avi ... but nothing ... so Dave I defer to you .. thank you very much

And another thing I noticed, I don't know if it's connected, when I go to the language trainer part, and I click trainer, nothing happens, nothing comes out, no pop up, I hope this information can help thanks

Update: in the practice section, when I push the PTT button it tells me: that my voice has not been recognized and to press the replay button to listen again, and when I push the replay button, I hear exactly what I said... how can it be possible that the ATC does not recognize my voice then?

The recognition depends on what you say.  So if you don't say a valid phrase, or it doesn't interpret a valid phrase from what you say, you can get that response.

Try saying just "Say Altimeter" and see if that is recognized.

For the Language Trainer to work, you must set your Speech, Language and Region to English-US so that Windows will open the English language trainer window.

Also, bring up the old style Control Panel and navigate to
Control Panel->Speech Recognition->Advanced Speech Options->SpeechRecognition and set Language to "Microsoft Speech Recognition 8.0 for Windows (English US).

Finally, if you haven't done the standard Microsoft Speech Training, do that now.  Some users have had the P2A Training start working after they went through the Windows language training.
⦁    In the Search box on the Task bar, type in "Windows Speech Recognition" and click on that when it comes up in the Windows box.
⦁    It will open a window which takes you through several steps to get started with Windows Speech Recognition.
⦁    Then try to use the Language Trainer.

Thanks Dave for answering me, then I tried to reinstall and try the V2 that I have always used and never had any kind of problem (windows 10) now I have windows 11 and I don't know if this could be the cause, however I tried to say many sentences related to the flight and there was no way to have a feedback with atc, so if I understood correctly without first doing this training thing, is this why my voice is not recognized? Right? Did I understand correctly? Thanks again

Since the replay plays your voice, then the microphone is working with P2A.

If you installed V2 and it didn't recognize anything, then most likely your Windows 11 Language settings are not correct.  Get them working with V2 and then they should work with V3.

If not, then to test if the speech recognition engine is working and the language settings are OK, just say "Say Altimeter" or "Say Weather" because those are very simple phrases that should be understood.

If those work, then try selecting and reading some of the more complex phrases from the trainer.  If those are not understood, then you probably need to do the Windows Language Training.
