Reading LVars Fails

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am having trouble using Read LVars from Sim.  It always fails.

Here are the details:

1.  MSFS 2024
2.  AAO version:  4.50 b23 - MSFS 2024
3.  Cessna 172 - base plane in game
4.  Sitting on the runway with engine running

I have uninstalled an reinstalled AAO.  I also read and followed this information:

https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/615879-read-lvars-from-sim-always-fails/

That package is in my Community folder.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Not really. I just tried that here, and it completed without any trouble. Weird. Are you quite sure that the package is where it is supposed to be? Do you have the Store or the Steam version of FS24?

Hello,

Yes, I double checked and the files are there.  This is MSFS 2024

Yes, but which one? Bought from XBox/MS Store or from Steam? They have different installation folder and initial location of the Community folder.

I checked both yesterday, and they both worked for me. Something on your computer, in your sim or in your AAO database is interfering

This is  the MS store version.  I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling.

Please don't. That doesn't do anything for Lorby addons, it is a waste of your time.

If you want, send an email with your proof of purchase to the support address, then we'll see.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and everything works now.  Just FYI

And the issue is back.  Everything was working this morning, ran an errand, and now AAO will not read LVars.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, that fixed it last time but not this time.

lorbysi-content-hooks

and

lorbysi-content-fippanel

Are the only things in my community folder.

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. The only reason that I know is the lorbysi-content-hooks package either missing or diabled.

Is that with every aircraft or only a specific one?

Just uninstall and reinstall.  Seems  to fix it each time it happens.  Not sure why it happens but this  is the  only fix I can find.

That doesn't make any sense to me, sorry. All the reinstall does is to replace the executable files that are already there. The installer does not change anything regarding configuration or setup. And files usually don't just "break", unless you have a harddrive/SSD problem of some kind or interference by another app or addon (even if they seem unrelated at first glance - like addon or community folder management tools, antivirus?).

I'm quite sure that the reason is something completely different, unrelated to the reinstall, and that it is pure conincidence that your problem happens in this sequence. But it is impossible to diagnose that from here.

I still have this question: could the problem be related to a specific aircraft (or group of) - and when it works you are just sitting in a different cockpit?
