Notifications only gone after accessing it twice

Since quite a long time already, I think since the forum update Notifications always come back once.

Example:
1. I am reading a topic and see a notification.
2. I go to the bell icon, click on it and go to the post I received the notification for.
3. The notification is gone.
4. I read the topic and go back to the main index: the exact same notification appears again.

So I ALWAYS have to click twice on the bell icon on two different screens before the notification disappears completely.

I have this on my PC, on a Mac and on my smartphone so it seems a forum software bug?

Yep...takes 2 clicks to get rid of it!

So... that's on purpose or a bug? I think it's rather annoying because a lot of times I think there is a new notification only to find out it's the old one again.

Don't know!  I just click it twice to make it go away!  Good finger exercise!
