Netherlands terrain textures north east of EHLE Lelystad

Featured Replies

Is anyone else seeing bright green terrain textures popping into existence after departing from runway 05 at EHLE Lelystad (MSFS 2020)? I have departed on this runway previously (using the Papa Hotel airport addon), but I turned west shortly after departure, so maybe I missed this texture problem at that time? I maintained the departure heading when climbing out this morning, and shortly after that I noticed that the terrain textures were really bright green. Then I noticed that the terrain textures in the distance were a more normal colour, and that the bright green textures were "popping into existence" as I moved closer. Presumable these bright green textures are the highest resolution ones? The problem here is that they look abnormal. Not as bad as those dreadful lime green and purple textures that were splattered over the Isle of Man in the past, but still uncomfortably harsh and "immersion killing" for me. The "tile popping" and harsh joint line between texture sets (screenshot link below) are the worst part.

Can anyone confirm that this is also a problem on your PC?

Well, it looks okay here. No difference between bright and dark textures no popping at all.

You are not far enough out. I can see the joint line in the upper left of your screenshot. As for the "tile popping", fly away from the airport in the opposite direction that you are looking in your screenshot. I could see the tile popping in the distance directly ahead of me as I was flying north east.

It seems that the problem is at asobo. The latest bing maps with msfs map enhancement 8.0.31.0 is totally different! (in a good way)

Look like a shading problem; either from an addon mask or default issue not orthoimage related.

Have you tried flying away from Lelystad airport in a north easterly direction? You should be able to see the bright green texture tiles loading ahead of you in the distance.

I flew with an F18 Hornet but i have no tiles popping up. I have no rolling cache enabled. It looks like you have the issues on your end.

My internet connection: 1 gb/s fiberoptics

BTW this is the same spot but from MSFS2024:
