December 27, 20241 yr Title. In search of good quality military airfield addons located anywhere on the globe. Ideally an addon developed recently that makes use of PBR, etc. E.g., Blackbird/MilViz Beale (no longer avail for P3d 😞 ). Mixed-use / joint base airfields are just fine, just needs to be "Hi Fi". p.s.: former .mil airfields that are now civilian just fine, too (e.g., former cold war bases). December 27, 20241 yr SkyDesigners has some of the best for P3d. Almost all in France. MileHigh Sims had a couple of nice US Navy airbases, KNQX and KNKX as I recall. Check Military AI Works for some very nice P3d bases in UK. Â Edited December 27, 20241 yr by hs118 My MSFS 2020 repaints:Â Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

January 2, 20251 yr Author Also, though not always obvious, nearly any airfield in the UK was at some point a military airfield in WWII. Many of them still have the characteristic triangle runway layout, though they may look like or have been converted into taxiways these days once the big commercial jets started operating. Anyhow, kinda sad that .mil airfields were never really a thing in ESP - there are some fine .mil aircraft addons in P3D that arent available as Hi Fi (or any Fi...) in the other sims. Paradoxically, there are SCADS and SCADS available for FS 2020, and most of them FREE... AFAICT, P3D scenery essentially requires very expensive 3D software, whereas in MSFS and X-Plane, one can build/enhance airports with tools included in the sims. (Happy to stand corrected if I'm mistaken...).
