March 29, 200818 yr I've just re-installed FSX, and am having a "senior moment" on how to enable the FSX missions so that I can load one. I did a search here and couldn't find anything, and when in the learning center found a referenec to the "Missions" menu in FSX that I don't see (I do have the delux edition of FSX). Is there a subsequent add-on to install first before I can use the missions?Thanks- Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
March 29, 200818 yr Sounds like an install problem. I had the same problem last year. The mission entry was missing-it was a validation error of some kind.I'd try reinstalling and check into a registry tool that I know is available (do a search on it here) if that doesn't fix it.http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 30, 200818 yr Bruce,Just reiterating ... when they say "Mission menu" they don't mean the menu strip across the top of FSX . They mean there is a button on the FSX interface (what appears when you exit free flight.)
March 30, 200818 yr You can also access the missions from the Flights | Load ... menu item, which brings up the Load Flight dialog. Change the category combo box at the top to one of the mission categories and you will see the missions. Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com
March 30, 200818 yr When you have an activation/validation error the mission menu vanishes.I had it about 6 months ago. It was terrible and after jumping thru hoops the only solution after trying countless solutions was to reformat my drive and reinstall everything. I hope that isn't what Bruce is in for.http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 30, 200818 yr Great tip Tim! I had thought you could only load a previously saved mission this way, but you can load any mission this way, and even see the Mission Briefing before you fly! You're always a font of great info.
March 30, 200818 yr Author Thanks for all the good ideas everyone."Bruce,Just reiterating ... when they say "Mission menu" they don't mean the menu strip across the top of FSX . They mean there is a button on the FSX interface (what appears when you exit free flight.)"Yes, now I remember- before I read this I tried doing a "repair" from the FSX disks. I assume that it was because I had SP2 installed that FSX wouldn't run, so I've done a reinstall. And I do see the "Mission" icon where you indicate. I must check the other location as well. Thanks again- Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
