KLN90B shoehorned into the RSG 430

Featured Replies

When trying to explain it to my girlfriend when she asked me whats different about this GPS, I told her its like living in the cellphone age and owning a rotary dial phone. I got the RSG430 just to have a hardware controller for a KLN90B and looking forward to using it old school with the Duke Piston. I was a bit worried about the setup as I am really pushing my computer to the limit but it is handling it all fine. 6 screens and almost 30 usb devices now..so wasnt sure if that was going to be the straw on the camels back.

I went with the 430 because it has dual knobs and both push in which I used as a cursor button. I was going to assign the 5 buttons along the bottom to match the original 90B but opted to keep
Ent as Enter
Clr as Clr
Dir as Dir
Msg as Msg
Menu as Alt (was the only button of the five on the KLN thats not on the 430) So its just that 4 cluster and msg on the 430 with all but one being an exact match. As a bonus, it can still be used as a 430 if I dont start Spad before I start the sim and the RSG device interface kicks in. Which combined with my GTN750 gives me a few great choices now when it comes to GPS options.
