April 12, 200818 yr Is it just me or has anyone else found gamespy to be the most unreliable and twitchy piece of software ever invented?I've tried to connect to the multiplayer tonight for the first time and it is simply impossible to use. Out of maybe 30 tries I have connected once successfully. It keeps saying you have been disconnected...I saw a post on this and tried all suggestions but none worked, I feel like taking this sim back to the shop as faulty it's so very very bad in multiplayer.Am I never destined to play this sim with others?
April 12, 200818 yr Commercial Member Gamespy has been the biggest waste of bandwidth since the begining of time IMO. I used to fly multi with FS9 I.P to I.P. That used to be nice. Havent tried it yet with FSX.DaveoESSB Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
April 12, 200818 yr If you really want a good online environment look at VATSIM. You won't miss Gamespy and some of the idiots that can ruin default multiplayer.

They are caught between the same rock-and-a-hard-place as everyone else. For whatever it's worth, rest assurred that FSvNext will NOT be using GameSpy's lame and very poor service...As it happens though, there are many other dedicated servers operating that you may enter without using the GameSpy Lobby system. April 13, 200818 yr "... rest assured that FSvNext will NOT be using GameSpy's lame and very poor service..."Now that's an excellent lesson: Never, ever allow your product's quality level to be dictated by a third-party.The larger Microsoft management community should also learn this lesson well. Windows Vista quality perceptions are being driven in large part by nVidia, HP and to a lesser extent some of the other third-party device manufacturers such as Creative (see their recent dust-up with an individual who wrote Vista drivers for one of their sound cards ... since they wouldn't.)They've turned Vista into Windows ME 2008.
