Vectors to Final

Featured Replies

I hope someone can help explain something to me that has been on my mind for a while.

Why is that when I have a STAR programmed into my FMS and it all looks OK in terms of the flight plan, that ATC takes over on approach and  gives me different vectors to line line up with the same runway. Is there a reason why it doesn’t follow the flight plan? One of my settings for example?

It’s not a massive issue as I ultimately end up in the same place , but just wondered why this happens .

Any advice appreciated. 🙂

Many thanks..

The published SIDs and STARs are the base. According to the amount of traffic/time of day ATC can vector you for more efficiency and other factors to their hearts content, as long as it is in a certain frame work, of course.

This is how it is done in real life...

I get this too. I'm not sure if P2A takes traffic into account as in real life. But I can have a perfectly matched STAR/APP but still get vectorec to about 20nm past the airport then back.

Many thanks for the reply . I am using Traffic Global, but not sure if that is influencing things. I actually quite like the fact that there is some extra to focus on at the end of a flight. Keeps the brain cells working. Thanks again for the reply .

I was able to drag the Navigraph window from under the P2A window by grabbing it from the top frame and complete the process. But yes, this a bug.

Many thanks. It always adds something extra to the end of some flights.. keeps me on my toes….
